The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, has denied the content of a letter purportedly authorised by him, which rejected the financial contribution of the Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in the planned renovation of the monarch’s palace vandalised by hoodlums during the #EndSARS protest on October 10.

The Soun, who spoke with the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Taiwo Adisa, said that he did not authorise the said letter in circulation.

Adisa disclosed to Governor’s Office correspondents, quoting the monarch: “If your boss sees any such letter, he should ignore it, because I didn’t ask anyone to write such a letter.”

“The Soun said that he never authorised anyone to issue a letter on his behalf and that if any such letter surfaces, some persons must have forged his signature.”

“The Soun said he wholeheartedly welcomes the intervention of Governor Seyi Makinde in the plan to fix the palace and all the damaged items.”

The purported letter claimed the monarch said the damages incurred during the unfortunate incident would be taken care of by a coordinated community effort of Ogbomoso sons and daughters.

The letter further added that a N10m released by the governor would be added to the contributions of his subjects, while it allegedly quoted the monarch saying there was no need to disburse the balance of the sum of N90m.

I am confused. But anyways the inability of some of our monarchs to soro soke is a contributing factor to the corruption that is prospering in the land. Good name is far better than riches but they pretend not to know

Ok, 10m released by the governor would be added to the contributions of his subjects, while the monarch saying there was no need to disburse the balance of the sum of N90m. Making a total of 100m to renovate, just wondering how much it would takes to demolish and rebuild.

I'm still trying to comprehend what I just read. 10 million for what?

The remaining 90 million for what?

In a country with more than half of the population living in abject poverty

OK na

Because politicians are prone to lying on a major scale, this is my theory. cheesy

Governor: I’ll make it public that I will rebuild his palace.

No one:

Governor: I’ll make it public that he has refused.

Soun: I did not refuse.
Our politicians are scammers cheesy Soun says he is not getting scammed though.

When I look at how protesters have been treated in the USA, Thailand, Hong Kong, Argentina the list goes on I want to weep for my country Nigeria.

All our leaders can think of as solution is to crack down on protesters with soldiers and hire tugs to kill peaceful unarmed protesters. Shutting down cities and stars at this critical time is unlawful and undemocratic the killing of citizens ungodly.

The imposition of these restrictions is a sign of fear or defeat.

We must not relent in our quest for a better country and only us can shape that future.

Seeing the police and army protect and not arrest armed tugs only point to the fact that the government is the sponsors of this miscreants with no future.

Please I call on all protesters to always protest where and when it is safe the government is already caged and heading for doom.

RIP to our brothers and sisters who's lives had to be sacrificed for the liberation of our country you are martyrs.

Let's check who wrote and delivered the letter first, then we'll investigate the content and it's authenticity, especially the part that reads N100M and N90M undecided

Please, evidence of those killed at Lekki. We all have believed that people died at lekki. Please, can anyone publish names, photos and possibly videos.
We Nigerians are good at recordings instead of supporting people in dying situations.
I'm not against protest but, since the govt has been saying no one died, can anyone prove the govt wrong.

As for Makinde, the only solution to any and every problem is to dash out money. Ibadan is fast decaying. Check Old Ife road, Akobo road, Apete road, Gbekuba Apata road, how dirty the city now looks.

Wether you're in support of the protest or not, a member of APC or PDP, Muslim or Christian, Northerner or Southerner, we are in it together.
Burn the Country, we will later meet at IDP's camp then we shall realize who the real fool is.
