Martins134:

To make it easier, look for US schools or hospitals that have IOUs with your school and start the process early maybe few weeks before beginning of your 6th year.

And believe me when I say that the process is very long and expensive but really worth it.

Is it advisable for one to defer classes to the next year since the process is long like you typed?

Thanks for your reply

From what I've seen so far it doesn't look as if, one month is sufficient to do the whole process of applying to different places then embassy stuff too. Some schools require IMGs to apply 2-6 months earlier.

Is it advisable for someone to defer his admission to another year, so as to chase it or should the person just disappear from class for months and later join the moving academic calender?

Please I need answers
I'm not yet a medical student so I don't know much about the whole process. But I think it will be possible to do it while attending classes. So you could tell someone to complete the process for you

You are welcome. Which medical school are you in?
UNIPORT

A UI student explained it better to me just now.He said there is a Calender for how final year Clinical classes are run.

And also there is electives in between.Having the Calender will help you plan on how to schedule it with the US hospital on time.

Electives is part of Yr6, so there will be no need to defer any admission. Planning ahead is the best thing one can do.

That's great. The best thing this to plan ahead.

The bolded is the benefit of good management. I don't know if other universities do this. But they should as it is really necessary.

You may need to inform us more about this project. What is it about? How much is the pay? What articles are to be written?

I’m a medical student and may be interested in your project if my questions are properly answered.

Regards.
Re: Medical Doctors' Forum: Let Us Know You! by Telzie: 8:17am On Dec 12, 2020
Thanks for responding TONYE001

It's a new virtual consultation platform that aims to connect Nigerian doctors to patients across Nigeria. We want to hire qualified doctors for our pilot phase for the consultations.

However, the medical students will help us write articles for our page. All articles to be reviewed and verified by a qualified doctor but all associated will be paid for their effort. I would prefer to refrain from putting up payment figures on Nairaland.

Article topics could be anything from "how to manage mild acne" to "most popular covid symptoms to watch out for". The topics being written will be pre-agreed by both parties and only accepted articles, based on quality of content will be paid for (accuracy of the content, not similar to something we already have, etc).

If you're interested, please let me know - I can see the system didn't allow my whole bitly/ short link registration link to show. i have posted the full link below - fingers crossed it will reflect when I submit this message. If it doesn't, please advise me on how I can get people to register for this without breaking the platform rules.

Thank you!

@ Telzie, OK then.

I’m interested and would register immediately.

Thank you.

Edit:

I’ve gone through the form. May I please suggest that you structure it in such a way that medical students would be captured. The form appears to have fields for only licensed, practicing doctors and at the moment, I’m not one yet.

Hope to get a response from you.

I have however tried to fill the form in the best possible way I could.

Regards.

Thanks.
