As for solutions, he went on to talk about investigations for cases of extra judicial killings, including those that may have happened during the protests. He spoke about a directive to the relevant body for review of salaries of security operatives, and also teachers in the country.

He thanked neighbour countries and the international community while cautioning them to explore facts on matters and avoid hasty conclusions, based on social media sensationalism.

He called for the discontinuance of protests around the country to allow room for further engagements and exchange of ideas with the youths. He called on security operatives to exercise restraint in the discharge of their duties, and ensure the protection of all law abiding citizens, as well as properties.

Importantly, he underscored the commitment of the FG to the unity of the country, and warned mischief makers and hoodlums that their activities will no longer be tolerated.

The speech lasted for 10 - 12 minutes.
