Good evening Nairalanders, My little cousin Mistakenly deleted all my photos from my phone Gallery. there are important pictures I use for work on it. Where do they go to? and how can I retrieve it. Please help me out

If your phone has a recycle bin you can get it there

But if not. It's gone

Download Google photos it has a trash bin that keeps photos for 60 days

Haha... Where were they before they were created? They go back to that place. grin

Serousiy though, they are data nah. A combination of pixels with varying colours which are represented in the memory as series of SN/NS combinations (conventionally represented as zeros and ones). That specific combination pattern unique to each data element takes up a region on the hard disk and when they are wiped, the polarities are just reset and the region is freed for another one.

I know some memory disks reserve a region where deleted files are temporarily stored (though this cannot be be accessed via the GUI interface). I don't think phone memories have this capacity unfortunately.

it gets encrypted and compressed then stored in your phone.

in the case of Android it is stored in Android folder in ur phone memory and you will probably not see it.

use some specialized data recovery app in your phone to get it back

or other ones that interface between pc and phone

Which fone, if it’s iPhone or Xiaomi then you can easily recover them.

if you phone has trash bin ..then it will go there otherwise you need to be rooted to retrieve deleted pictures (that's if you use an android device)

Get a data recovery application on PC, you can Google the top 5.

Put your memory card directly into the allocated slot on the PC.

Use the software to recover your files.

As for the ones on your phone memory, most times that needs more advanced software that is generally only available to the likes of the forensic team.

Nothing ever gets deleted, you can only overwrite data to make it useless. On the web? Nope. It only went somewhere else. Like Facebook. It's all stored.

Check d thumbnails folder of ur fone, it shud be there.

On ur pc.

Or download google photos nd pray it backed up ur Photos

Next time, always upload important files and media on your private Google drive storage, you get 15GB cloud storage free with every gmail account you have and can always pay for more if you need to.

They are usually still on your device storage waiting to be overwritten. If you generally use up all your data storage space then they most definitely have been overwritten, also depending on how long ago it was.
