Went out today to see things for myself

It's beyond what can be imagine.

Speaking specially for Lagos, I almost shed tears at the stupefying level of damage, destruction, looting. cry

The governor described it, aptly, as level destruction seen in time of war.

Truly shocking!

And scary at the same time.

Almost gives the impression it's been planned for months.

My heart goes out to all those who have lost one thing or another. . . .

Sadly the carnage is far from over.

Also, the potential was always there.

Remember that xenophobia retaillation, people that dont even know what is happening attacked and attempt to loot shoprite.

Same thing as during shutdowm... The 1millionboys saga.

Black man lack morality and conscience, all he need is opportunity to show his true nature.

It was terribly managed. The propagators failed to factor in all the major players.
Their focus was on the govt, if they knew about the teeming hungry youth that are patiently waiting for opportunity to loot they would had stop the protest after one week.

the stupid youths were forming no leaders, generation woke bla bla bla. Dj switch also escalated the violence. Blocked roads for over a week instead of taking maybe one lane. They turned it to food fest and carnival too.

Block everywhere, were feeling super fly. Meanwhile hoodlums were urging them on praying government miss-fire and boom govt misfire and hoodlum cashed out.

True....... Lagos was seriously damaged.

I doubt if tinubu and sanwo-olu knew Lagos was going to be affected so hard......it will take a long time to recover.

There were far more bigger protests in the east during the Nnamdi kanus rallies, but it never degenerated to attacking private businesses and markets and malls.. I mean, tens of thousands passing through open markets without a single act of looting in places like Onitsha and Aba..Lagos has to do something about these cult boys otherwise everybody there is in trouble. The lockdown and these protests have revealed this. I hope one can make that point without being labelled a tribalist..,Folks can choose to ignore the obvious but it's a real problem!

Those of you saying #Endsars was poorly managed are not being truthful.

Government decided they are tired of protest.

Went to Lekki Toll and started shooting live bullets at the protesters.

Live bullets for Christ sake at people who has no guns and whose taxes pay your bills.

That was the end of the protest.

By morning, when the news of the shooting spread, people got angry and started destroying things.

By this time, it was no more #Endsars but angry Nigerians.

They felt Govt have told them to bleep off.

Buhari waited for 48 hours to address Nigerians which was one of the greatest damage.

Its very shameful to blame people that protested organised for days even when Govt was sending thugs to kill them.

Who ordered the shooting of peaceful protesters at lekki on the 20th of October,2020?

Mr man don't deceive yourself. Edo Prison break was on Monday.
By monday lagos was already boiling, curfew was announced. Lagos was still boiling.

This hoodlums were waiting for a bigger opportunity.

The protesters and the army gave it to them at a plater of God.

The lootings currently going on in the SE is what?
This protest went on for 2 weeks without any looting whatsoever. Why was it only when government declared a curfew did we start having such?

The elephant in the room is the fact that nobody wants to call a spade a spade as it regards the army of hooligans in Lagos. And by that I mean the activities of such cult groups like the Awawa boys and the one million boys. These groups consisting of thousands of highly uncouth and ruthless boys showed their hands initially, during the lockdown lootings and easily overpowered the police. It was the vigilantes that saved the day. Folks were not lucky this time.

Their wanton looting, sort of set the template that turned the looting of everything in sight into a part of the protest nationwide. Personally, I have made the decision to never support any revolt again that will include these people! It's heartbreaking, to see peoples hard earned resources looted in few minutes! If Lagos can't get a grip on her wayward youths, taking into consideration how big Lagos is in such issues,a folks to find alternative ways of expressing general national discontent next time.. I hate creating new problems while solving another..

What do you mean protesters?

Is it a crime to protest?

So instead of the army to control what was about to happen, they opened fire on people singing national anthem with flags.

And you are here blaming those they shoot?

How about the Army of hoodlum currently looting private businesses upto this moment in calabar.

This hoodlum are everywhere, southeast inclusive.

The difference with that of Lagos is tribalism is also fueling the carnage.

The protesters should have ended their protest since on saturday but the kept grandstanding.

They ancored their faith on 30 days UN intervention and Holding Nigeria Flag which were lies.

They wanted 5 for 5... Most dont even know the 5 but they block all the roads, grandstanding, provoking the blood thirsty and immature Nigeria Army.

It was just a matter of time, they would lose control and attack unarmed protesters.
It was predictable.
Also, once the attack occur...the looting would start

Do you know, The FG would be sued internationally, they would be found guilty and they would have to pay for their crimes but guess what... Those that died are already dead.
Business lost, already lost.

5 for 5 droped.

I think this summaries it. Let's be sincere we can't blame the carnage on the Lekki killings.

And that's the scary part I was referring to. That we have such a large number of teeming, evidently angry and hungry youth waiting to take advantage of the situation to cause mayhem.

Hmm. I can clearly remember the one million boys gang during the covid lockdown. .

And thier number increases everyday!!

This is a serious ticking bomb on our hands. The earlier we start doing something about it, the better.

This also raises another question:
Who are the parents of these youths??

That is the problem, people have short memories, why did government started using thugs to disrupt peaceful protest, why did they use Army and police to shoot protesters . if the government managed the issue reasonably we will not have this kind of result . they should blame themselves

The "parents" are part of the "hoodlum". If you investigate clips from different looting scene of private businesses, you would see elderly, children, women, girls, men actively involve. It would take a full community working as a team to clear a full shopping mall (with shoprite as tenant).

The blackman doesn't think beyond his nose, he thinks crime plus begging is profitable and virtue and hardwork futile. He envy fraudsters and complain of politicians not because he want a change but he feels bitter that he is not the one doing the oppression.
If the opportunity arises he shows his real nature and he blames everyone for his action bur not himself.

He blame the govt, politicians, the army, the church.... He tries to deceive himself that he his in the right but his conscience wont let him rest.
Re: I'm Terribly Distressed At The Level Of Carnage by Hedonisco: 9:30am On Oct 25, 2020
Two factors are largely responsible for this unwholesome outcome:

1. The rudderless, clueless and insensitive Buhari regime that had to wait for protests in order to do something about the EndSars agitation that has been persistent since 2017!

2. The 'hip crowd' protesters who refused to back down even after government finally abolished the SARS unit and committed to comprehensive action. There was really no need to continue the protest beyond that point... Turning the whole thing to a fiesta or concert without an endgame. What was the point? It had to escalate at some point.
