So I saw a deal of an Eastman 850va, 12v inverter and 2×100ahr Double tech batteries few months used, for less than 120k.

I grab am, because reason for disposal was due to system upgrade of the previous owner.

Well, I just took delivery and I discovered that the self consumption, on no load is about 25watts!

Summary of this message be say, I WAN SELL ONLY INVERTER O....I never even install am yet.

Asking prize is 45k. (Slightly negotiable)

INVERTER has LCD screen, shows real time load percentage, inbuilt charger, etc etc.

Reason for my own disposal is that, my system is very small, my 600Wp PV installation is also heavily shaded and this inverter will simply be wasting energy for me...

The best you can expect is for your replacement inverter to consume 10 to 15watts idle. Are you really going to buy a new inverter to save 10watts per hour? 240wh per day?

i am not buying another one, i simply reverted to my other one that does about 8 to 10w idle. And yeah, the system is a micro one because of my unique installation ie shading problems while keeping to best practices on battery usage.

The Eastman 850va inverter (was told its afvertosed as 1kva tho)that I put up for sale here, even though I don't use it as an inverter, I sometimes use it as battery charger to boost battery charging with utility or gen. Now I have discovered that on normal utility grid supply, my clamp metre has never exceeded 5amps. But when on generator I get up to 14amps steady!!

Wetin de occur, biko?... shocked

Anyone with an explanation or experience?

Update: THE inverter wasn't bad at all. I realized as at morning I was still at over 12.5v hence the inverter was still at aborb or float mode.

Nope...starts at 220ish volts then later drops. But i use a stab to keep it around 200v.

Depends on how long you want to charge it and what your BMS can accommodate. However with a 60A charging it will be full within 5hrs. The more charging capacity, the lesser the charging time to full and vice versa
