Arrrrrrrh A country where education is not Thier priority, will produce such kind of news. To be Frank buhàri has failed us, in every aspect. One thing I understand is most of the money are being driven to the wrong place. For instance, the new scanner they intend to buy. If not for intervention they would have buy it and waste alot of money. Misplaced priority!! |

The elites calls us the leaders of tomorrow yet they(elites) send their children to study abroad with emblezzle tax money our parents are paying, keep jobs that ought to be gotten through merit for their children. They will come every 4 years and make empty promises yet some people will still defend them after collecting 20k.... Their entitlement for the 4years |

Nobody is interested in your salaries being withheld. Your salaries will continue to be withheld as long as you don't return to the classrooms. |

no b lie...was around d meeting yesterday and it still same old story... ASUU asking them to test the UTAS and f.g still insisting dt it must be IPPS because other govt agency would also want to switch from it to Thiers if they bend to ASUU and ASUU still demanding for old salaries and F.G refusing because ASUU didnt work for it... another meeting would be fixed again mayb next month because the f.g rep said they need to give the President feedback if he can reconsider ASUU and he would get back to them... what pains me most is d way both parties wey laughing and sharing pleasantries after d party dt I thought they would both walk off in an angry mood... how can workers dt avnt been paid be seen laughing n shaking hands with their managers?? it seems these people are jus playing d students n I think a general protest within d nation would solve things.. m jus tired of this country...

In 2012, when the NEEDS assessment of 16 universities were carried out, after much pressure, the government came out to say that it agreed with N1.3 trillion to be released over a period of six years, starting with the sum of N200 million in 2013. That was the only tranche the government released, which was spread over five years. Since 2017, we have been saying that the government should go back to pay the balance or come up with a new schedule for paying the balance of N1.1 trillion. The best we have got from the government was the release of N25 billion, then N20 billion as a sign of commitment, which does not address the fundamental issues because the spirit behind the MoU of 2013, which the Federal Government signed with ASUU, was the need to massively inject funds into public universities, but there are problems in terms of facilities and human capacities, among others. If this does not explain to you why ASUU doesn't trust the Govt. I don't know what else will. I mean, since 2013? An agreement reached has not been honoured? This shows the uncaring attitude that this Govt. not only towards education, but towards healthcare and security..which are vital foundations on which any successful society is built. I weep for my country..governed by wickedness in the highest and lowest of places. |
