I also tried tracking it but it’s not bringing any information out .....Please help mii....Is anyone experiencing this too ?

Use this to check the status first...

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV

Is it still on administrative processing or it already states issued ? When you confirm it has been issued, then you can be sure it’s ready for pickup. I did my interview on same day though I paid same day. A lady who paid the next day like you has gotten a mail for pickup too.

Hello guys, I have a step-sister in the US. Do I list her in the immediate relatives section? I noticed the only options there are: fiance, spouse, child, and sibling...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

First, you’ll be interviewed based on what you have on your DS-160. Lemme ask you a question, Does mentioning your step-sister gives you any particular edge in getting the Visa? I think it’s a NO.
On the contrary, it gives room for further probing and questioning. IMO, I think you should save yourself the troubles. (Her status in the US also matters and if you’re able to explain in details if you’re asked...fine) You’ll rather give the VO an impression of strong home tie rather than relative abroad. Don’t get me wrong oo. Not saying it’s wrong, just think about it thoroughly.

Also, will it count against you if you only applied to one school? .. cos reading through the thread, I noticed most people applied to several schools. Thanks

Applying to more than one school, gives the VO an impression that you really are fascinated about studying. I know a guy who applied to just One school and has his visa. Although he wasn’t asked how many schools he’ applied to. But he had planned to say more than 1.

A few weeks ago, someone shared his transcript here. He applied to only one school and the uncle advised him to say 3 if they ask him. Then when the VO asked him to mention the schools, he mentioned schools that usually require GRE and he had said earlier he didn’t take the GRE. Well, he was denied. You see he didn’t do his homework well. It would have been better if he was honest here or he would have done his homework well.

It’s better to have more than one school though. Atleast be familiar with the process even if you’ll lie.

Hello,

I've been trying to get appointment date for 5 days now for Lagos. The pop up is always no available dates until I get to my limit even after spacing the time till midnight.

Who else got a date in Lagos this week and how did you do it? I'll really appreciate any help/ advice right now.

Thank you.
Please, have dates be available now?

Schedule normal appointment on any date, then request emergency appointment after. They'll get back to you.

Are you going for Spring 2021?
Was your program start date within 60 days?

This seems unusual to me. I think it wont hurt to call the Lagos office and tell them what you saw on your visa status

Hello everyone. Have they been giving people visa even if there is still no in-class session yet?

Is it safe to book an appointment when there is no in-class session for my program?

Kudos to everyone on this thread for sharing very important information that has help more people than you can imagine, God bless you all. I found the information below on my Appointment Confirmation (F1 Visa) and need some clarifications.

IMPORTANT NOTICE for K1 Visa Applicants:If you have scheduled an interview appointment for a K1 visa, please ensure that you complete your Medical Examination Report (from any of our panel physicians) and obtain your Police Character
Certificate before the scheduled date for the visa interview. NO APPLICANT WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE CONSULATE
VISA HALL WITHOUT A VALID MEDICAL EXAMINATION REPORT.

Do I need to have Medical Examination Report as an F1 Visa applicant before I can be allowed into the consulate for my interview? If yes, is there a stipulated clinic where it should be done?

Any other information that will be of assistance in this regard will be appreciated, thanks.

If you are going for F1, the list of what to go with has already been posted here. If you are going for F2, I have already given you a list of things you can go with. If you are taking leave of absence from work for example, bring along a document to prove it. If you are going for F2 and leaving your cildren behind? That might raise a question. Who are you leaving your children with, if your spouse is already in the USA? You have to get a proper response for this. Anyways, I dont know what exactly your situation is and the more info you give, the more people on this platform can help you out. ALL the best

Guys please... I need answers urgently. My interview is on Friday 6th. I just checked my ds160 and found a mistake I made. My intended date of arrival as written on my i20 is 20th December, but I wrote 19th January..... my school start date is 21st January . Should I fill another ds160?

That's not an issue. 19th January is still within the 30 days rule. What is on your I-20 is the earliest date you can arrive the US. I don't think you have to fill a new DS-160.

My visa was approved on 16th October too and I have not received a mail to pick up my passport.

Congratulations. Were you asked if you took a standardized test (GRE/TOEFL)?
