Generally speaking, NO. But this is not how the VO think. In his mind, you should be pursuing graduate degree, not undergraduate.
If you have been on this thread for over 10 months, then you shoot yourself in the leg. Were you not here when we discuss the application of the guy that was refused in Ukraine, about a month ago? We started that some age are not suitable for undergraduate, at least not before you get the visa.

You said you are a professional? Are you saying you already have a first degree? If so, why taking 2 steps backward? Why not move forward with advanced degree?
I think I missed that part (the age discussion) or I must have forgotten. Honestly, I was wary of the age. But, the US embassy has always emphasized that age is not something they consider, that motivated me. But nevertheless, I am resolute and firm.

Yes, nw we know why!!!
Undergraduate at 28? Are you serious?
When did you join this thread?
I'm 22, will be 23 by November, admitted to Arizona State University, Accountancy undergrad. I can only apply for scholarship when I'm in the US as stated by the school. Hope my age wouldn't pose a problem?

Hello good people of this thread, I have been following for a while now, I have some questions to ask
1. I was given admission to Iowa state university for masters program in electrical engineering, but no funding or scholarship. My uncle in the US is sponsoring me, does this gives room for denial

2. My interview date is Jan 4 and my program start date is Jan 19, hope this doesn't affect me in anyway or I should request for emergency appointment..

Your responses will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

I got admitted to Jackson State university for the MPH degree starting in spring 2021. I actually got admitted to University of Illinois Springfield and University of North Carolina too but all without funding. JSU became the cheapest of the 3 and my decision to go to JSU is purely financial. I am in my second year working as a medical doctor here in Nigeria. My parents have made 10 million naira available to me in my bank account and I have 4 million as my personal savings totaling #14M. I am about to request my i 20 this week. I have concerns over the source of funding that will appear on my i 20 and what to fill as sponsor on my ds180. The DSO at JSU has said the i-20 carries a total fund of 19736 for one year.

Should you submit your sources of funding the way you've explained, your savings may show as 'Personal Funds' while that of your parents might be labelled 'Family funding'.

I experienced the same thing, the two account I provided was twice the required amount for the 9 months duration, the processing officer told me she’d have to put down say 7 million from parents account and 5 million from mine to equal the amount needed for 9 month, the rest of the money present in both account is not useful, even if you have 40 million, it will still reflect your basic 9 months.

I try not be absolute in my responses to questions as I am not a VO.
People do get their visas despite having sponsor in the US. However, you may be asked questions about when and how he travelled and what he's doing, depending on the VO you meet. If you meet a VO who is not pleased with having a sponsor in the US, you may be refused. This possibility is there; I see it. But again, depends on the VO you meet. How your interview will end will be determined by the type of VO you meet.

You can ask for emergency appointment on the same portal you picked January 4th. The option is right there on the left pane.
All the best!

Thank you for the information, my parents funds has already been deposited in one of my bank accounts. The two bank statements will be mine. Will this still apply? What will be my answer when a visa officer asks ‘who’s sponsoring you’?
if you’re providing an account statement of about 14 million, how do you defend such huge funds, lol even adults that have worked all their life’s don’t have that much fund, secondly if you can prove you can take care of your first 9 month, who wild take care of your second year? I think it’s wise to allow your parent and your Acct statement reflect on your i20

Hi guys. My I-20 shows program start and end dates to be January 2021 to December 2025 (PhD). That’s roughly 4 years. On my DS-160, can I fill in ‘4 years’ as my intended length of stay in US please?
Thank you

Hello. Thank you for your help on here. Please need your opinion what if one intends on applying for a second bachelor's degree at the age 32 is this advisable owing to the fact that its a total change of career.

Looking forward to your responses
