Mere Allegation, Has Anyone Ever Seen Any Evidence That IPOB Killed Anybody? by gidgiddy: 10:42am On Nov 02, 2020
Some years ago, I was driving to meet someone in Enugu when I was stopped at a checkpoint. The Police went through my particulars and didnt find me wanting. As the officer handed me back my papers, he demanded that I give him N500. I asked why I should give him money when I have no issue. For asking that question, the officer siezed my car key, shoved me into the passengers side and drove me to a nearby Police station. The officer told me he was going to deal with me. I was kept behind the counter for hours and when he came back, he handed me a charge sheet. I was being charged to court for the traffic offense of obstruction! I now told the officer that if N500 was the problem, let us settle amicably. The officer then told me that the money had gone up to 5 thousand Naira. I told him I will see him in court.

At the court, the officer and the Police prosecutor told the Magistrate a wonderful story that I had parked my car in the middle of a busy road and held up traffic, thereby commiting obstruction. The Magistrate asked them only one question, "where is the evidence?" They had none and the case was eventually struck out.

I learnt an important lesson from that case, in the eyes of the law, mere allegation does not mean anything. For years now, the authorities have been claiming that IPOB is an armed group that kills people including Policemen and Soldiers. My question is where is the evidence? Has anyone ever seen IPOB with guns? Has anyone seen pictures of those the authorities claim IPOB killed? How come nobody even knows the names of these officers killed by IPOB? Some time last year, the Anambra state police released pictures and names of two officers they claimed IPOB killed at the home of IPOB's Lawyer but the Lawyer has since taken the Nigerian police to court so I wont comment on that case since it is in court

But beyond that, the fact remains that there is no verifiable proof that IPOB has ever killed anyone. There are no pictures, no videos, no evidence, no names of those killed. Nothing

All we have are allegations and statements of the authorities.

In the eyes of the law, allegation without evidence is zero

Using your standard, "allegations", then no group, not even soldiers has ever killed anybody in Nigeria because it is all allegations.

Should we now post pictures of Soldiers and policemen killed?

A few days ago they even beheaded a policeman in Abia state.

I still have nightmares.

They don't have any evidence against that group.
One thing is sure, those who kill others maybe to silence them or for whatever selfish reasons, will surely get their reward in one way or the other.
Evil, beget evil. We can play senseless politics with it but God almighty is not mocked, he pays everyman according to his deed.
Have you asked yourself why the religion of peace hardly have peace in most countries they control.
Reason is just simple, they don't truly love peace.

The authorities say IPOB are armed, yet nobody has ever seen IPOB with arms except the authorities

The authorities say IPOB is a terrorist group, yet nobody in the East is terrified of IPOB except the authorities

The authorities say IPOB are violent, yet the only violence attributed to IPOB always starts with the authorities being present.

A time comes when you have to ask, 'Is IPOB the problem or the authorities?'

giddy, it is on tape where Nnamdi Kanu wan encouraging members of IPOB to attack and kill police officers, and soldiers, burn their vehicles and offices, and take their weapons. I heard it with my own ears and i had to stop listening because i couldn't stomach it knowing the repercussion such would attract.

What you are seeing in Obigbo is the effect of those statement.

Kanu already knows that the Nigerian state is looking for any means necessary to wipe out IPOB if possible. Why give them an a reason to?

Then you have an ear defect. Go and change your ear.
He said do not allow any law enforcement agency kill you. If you are being killed in your area because you are protesting against police brutality and an end to bad governance, go and fashion a weapon and defend yourself.
Kill any police man that is shooting at you, burn down their stations, take their guns, defend yourselves. Do not allow them to kill you. Destroy anything that is answering Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This message was particularly directed to Nigerian youths during the #Endsars protest, After the Nigerian Army and Nigerian police force shoot live bullets at protesters and killed a lot of protesters at lekki toll gate, at delta state, at enugu , at anambra, at aba, at abuja, at obigbo.

Anybody can say anything. Did you see the pictures of any Policeman killed? Did they tell you their names? Did anyone tell how they died?

So how you that any Policeman was even killed? Or do you just believe anything the authorities tell you?

I don't believe or disbelieve and at this point in time, it is immaterial. What is important is not to give the fulani controlled army an opportunity or reason to attack you.

What Kanu was spewing is enough reason to tag any chaos or destruction in IPOB strongholds on IPOB members in order to attack them. Which is exactly what they are doing, and nobody would be willing to stick out their necks for IPOB.

And you are not wise enough to know that statements can be construed to fit certain purposes?

Talk from now till tomorrow, you see the bolded statement, it will always be used against Kanu.

How easy has it been for igbos on Nairaland to convince the Yorubas that they were taking Nnamdi Kanu's statements on Tinubu and Sanwolu out of context? even to the extent that some were misrepresenting Oyigbo to mean Oyingbo? That is the reason as a leader, you don't talk anyhow because what you say can be tailored against you, even if you mean something different.

Nnamdi Kanu said so much during this period, and what you see in Obigbo today is the consequence.

If Kanu had limited his statements, while adding the interview with Dele Momodu, he would have won himself so many new admirers across the Niger.

I think he can still make amends.

Was it igbos that were shooting at lekki toll gates? So why will igbos want to convince Yorubas that they mean well. Igbos were also killed at lekki. The rightful people I would hold responsible is the state government and his party chieftain who both happens to govern and leave in Lagos.

There was never a time Nnamdi Kanu said igbos should burn Yoruba properties rather he specifically said the youths should go after Tinubu and destroy his properties for ordering the armies to shot at unarmed protesters at lekki toll gates. He even mentioned Dangote and the Abia state Governors properties.

We all know Nnamdi Kanu very well. He does not play dirty politics. He have insulted everyone, including the young and the elderly. Both the ones living abroad and in Nigeria. He even instructed his followers to beat the living day light out of a sitting Deputy Senate President. His own brother.

Nigerian youths have seriously mentality problems. Turning even a meaningful protest to tribal war.

If the youths decides to protest again. Please leave igbo youths out of Nigeria affairs. We know how to deal with our own. We are waiting for them to come and campaign for 2023 presidence.
