Yet these same people will come online to tell you how backward and underdeveloped the north is!

God bless Arewa land![/quote]Your line of reasoning is myopic and ethnocentric. Understand also that, these are natural catastrophies and be sympathetic with the victims for these disasters can befall any region at anytime.
When Arewa states are experiencing arid conditions and desert encouragement, your herdsmen become heartless with their daggers and AK 47 riffles. They migrate with their cattle southwards and to Rivers State in particular, killing farmers, destroying homes and maiming fellow country men anyhow.
Here you are feeling justified and mocking at Rivers State people over natural calamities that Arewa states cannot equally control.
God will bless River State people more, for enduring the natural calamity that befall them peacefully, without becoming nuisance and killers of other ethnic groups.

wetin concern flood with oil??
Flood like this happen in the USA every year
it's about the climate and there's nothing u can do to prevent it
best that can be done is to advice citizens to leave the vicinity before it happens and make releive materials readily available after the flooding

True talk o but cuz of the hatred and blindness of the heart we have in this country ehn, people will still mega quote you and lambast you o but just ignore there senseless head abeg

ILoveDemMANNA:
Start from Your Councilors,
Your Local Government,
Your State Government,
Your Reps in the House,
The senators representing you at the senate,
Before you jump to the Federal government.

This is how things are done in a sane countries.
The Federal government allocate money for 85% of these kinda projects to your state government already.....every month,
But since your Governors know you will never come meet them for all the misery happening in your backyard,
but it is Buhari Buhari that is in Abuja you will be blaming, then they loot away your future codedly.
Until you guys become wise and behave like civilized people, this is the way your environment and life will continue to be for the next 100 years.
No cap!

Sad reality.

Modify :
The Federal Government give to Rivers state every month almost double the allocation that the governors in the Northern states receive.
But look at the below beautiful pictures by Arrewa,
Look at what the governors are using their monthly allocation to do, and look at what your state looks like... just compare!
Una go get sense las las, when you all truly know who your real problems are....
Truth is bitter!

That's all you can type. Mumu... Do you know the topography of that place? This is a yearly thing because of the nature of that area. This flood is from Patani in Delta state down to Bayela and Orashi region in Rivers.

Many of these people have been told severally to leave this area especially during the rainy season because of flood, but they have refused. Me I dont blame them as well because the government has not provided a suitable place for them to relocate to and most are just used to their homeland. They just wont move.

Does it mean these people foresaw the flood and built canoes in advance?
These are Riverine communities. The Rivers overflows during this season yearly. It's a common thing in Rivers, Bayelsa and Patani area of Delta state.

Kano... Awesome! grin Where in Kano is that? I last visited the state in 1995 and there were no bridges. Kano is more modern based on a few pics I've seen online and hope to fly back there in 2021 when the Covid situation reduces. Kanawa Dabo.

Rained yesterday as well, though today I've seen no rain in my area yet. However places like Ahoada east and west, Abua/Odual, Onelga all in Rivers state, almost the whole of Bayelsa, then Patani in Delta state. These are flood prone areas and they get a yearly occurrence of flooding.

So it's nothing new.
