There nothing like land grabbing and do not comment on what you have little or no knowledge about.
Oyigbo is a local government area but name of the main town is called Obigbo till tomorrrow.
cc:Okoroawusa.

Ok... Noted. Thank you. But all through my more than 3years in PH city, I never saw anyone call it Obigbo. But thank you for the clarification

This woman could have given the necessary info without exposing their hideouts. Now,she has told every Nigerian soldier that they should search inside waste bins for children and kill them. This situation is not under control yet.She should have been wiser.

is Oyigbo, I don't know what is with Abians on changing the LGA name

Local government names were announced just a few decades ago.
Town and village names are ancient.

1. What was the name of this OYIGBO region when it was still in East Central state?

2. If its previous name was not OYIGBO, why then was this region given a non-Igbo name when it was joined to Rivers state?

3. Or is there a town in OYIGBO LGA named Oyigbo? Bearing in mind that town names are ancient and bears the true identity of the town's citizens.

Under whose governorship, was the name of the LGA, changed to OYIGBO?

So why do Igbos keep calling it Obigbo?
According to the chest beaters, Oyigbo was carved out of Abia state. it was formerly called Obigbo until the carving was done..but you know their domineering nature na..They still haven't accepted the reality of Oyigbo now being under Rivers state

So it was Kanu that caused the Nigerian Army to go about killing people for no reason? If that is the case then Nigerian Army is useless since people outside the country can make them kill those they are paid to protect

Nigeria has no military when you people call those rogues military or army it is an insult to professional militaries all over the world. This is More of a militant or militia . Show me any military that cries before an armed insurgent group but barks at unarmed protesters . My apologies to the 1% who are professional soldiers. The rest are rogues

Useless ipob first killed soldiers

Did you see any evidence? Did they tell you how IPOB, that is not known to carry arms, managed to kill 6 armed Soldiers? Did you see the pictures of the Soldiers? What are their names? How were they killed? Where is the evidence that IPOB killed anybody?

Gone are the days when people just believe anything they are told

I'm full blooded igbo so you can be asking those stupid questions to non igbos.. Like we didn't hear the ipob leader telling the miscreants to kill soldiers and take their weapons.. Everything is clear.. The east will never be allowed to be lawless like the north.. Never!

Kanu can say anything he likes, what we are interested in is what was done, not what was said. Where is the evidence about what they claimed IPOB did?

Nop.. All evidence will be scrutinised, it doesn't work that way u think.. You called for war and the war has been taken right down to your door steps, you can come out to continue fighting.. The ipob killed 6 soldiers and wanted to create anarchy.. It won't work

Not all countries are backward as Nigeria that still justifies military brutality. In many advanced countries, you will see their Army leave the barracks unless there is war or that there us s situation that the Police are overwhelmed

But in Nigeria, any small thing, uncivilized military thugs will grab their guns and run out. They will start shooting people from Lekki toll gate to Obigbo

But if it is Fulani herdsmen that were killing people in Obigbo, nobody will see the same Army anywhere.

Its got nothing to do with Nnamdi Kanu, military brutality and killings was there when there was no Nnamdi Kanu. This has everything to do with a culture of s failed state that does not know its most important duty is to preserve life

Go and see what Americans did after George Floyd died. It was a riot, burning, killing, attacking Police and Army. But the security forces used restraint so as to protect the lives of their citizens because they know that to shoot a person dead should only be last resort. For the Nigerian Army, it is first and only resort
Thanks for educating that blank head..... I hope he learnt something today

The government have failed to realized that you certainly can't quench fire with fire.... Herdsmen was killing and burning houses on daily basis which was coincidental to when IPOB started their peaceful protests... But the herdsmen wasn't tagged a terrorists instead they were pampered and compensated with huge sum of money, perhaps a time will come when the Igbos will fully accept their new tag that they are terrorists now start acting like one, just like the Militants.... Maybe then the same government will start shouting and calling for amnesty....!!

But hope you still could look at somethings rationally sha

Are you not funny? Someone gave a very logical and sensible answer to a myopic fellow. You left the myopic fellow and started asking the person that gave a rational answer to be more rational while ignoring the myopic person he responded to.

Some Nigerians are unbelievable. A big shame!

So why do Igbos keep calling it Obigbo?

If they call it Obigbo, would it change the name to Oyigbo? Wike claimed that they want to change the name of the local government, so the local government chairman is an IPOB and also the state House of assembly are Igbos? How can a few people that doesn't even have any power change the name of a local government?

By the way, if you don't know, that place was ceded to Rivers state because of Oil. They're majorly Igbos. The governor doesn't provide anything or do anything for that community despite being an oil community because they're majorly Igbos. He just used the endsars protest and IPOB as a cover to kill Igbo people there.

As for the name check the image below

Abi nah.

Am not a fan of tinubu or belong to any political party but some of our brothers comments here are mostly tribal.

How can you be criticizing tinubu 24hours and praying for his downfall while preserving your own leaders?

Tinubu is thief accepted even dough 2 different regime have prosecuted him and found nothing against him.

People that know me in real life know that I dont care about tribe before speaking out the thruth but how is the man that has left office since 2007 becomes the only major problem of the country? What of others?

Did you have to bring others down before you can rise in life?

The sky is wide enough for everyone to trive

It s a huge problem believe me. Up till this minute, PDP and OHANEZE are yet to condemn what is going on in Oyigbo largely because it is being spearheading by one of their Politicians.
