Asking for freedom is not a crime, afterall the same agitation they were doing is what everybody is doing now. Are they not vindicated now?. You allege they killed soldiers without evidence, but policemen were killed in Oyo state, roasted and eaten in broad daylight, yet the place has not been levelled to the ground. Well, whatever goes round comes around. The Igbos cannot be annihilated, the more you oppress them, the more they multiply and grow, cant you understand?.
