First and foremost, may the soul of those who died during the protest; wherever it may be all over the country rest in peace. Secondly, the Endsars protest was a civil matter and didn't require the presence of the Nigerian Army; they should not have been in Lekki at all.
However, one problem we have in this country with our leaders is the propensity to lie to us about issues bordering on our welfares, security and the true state of things. I abhor such behaviors and felt that was what we were fighting to correct, hence there is no justification for we the younger generation to engage in what has made this country lose value -Lies and inconsistencies.
Is it just me or no one noticed a critical part of DJ Switch initial statement is missing? DJ Switch initially claimed they parked those killed to the soldiers to show them those they have killed and the soldiers parked the corpses into their trucks and took off with them when leaving the massacre ground; this was the basis for the visitation to the Army Mortuary by the panel of inquiry set up by the LASG.
However, in this new post on what she said to the Canadian Parliament; it is reported that she said she counted seven fallen comrades without mentioning the army taking off with their corpses. These are issues of inconsistencies;
1. If she actually counted dead comrades, what number did she count as I believe that number will give us an idea of the actual massacre that happened; the number being counted needs to be finite and consistent.
2. Why didn't she mention to the Canadian Parliament that line of carrying the dead comrades to the soldiers who ended up carting away their dead bodies. This will have given a better insight into what happened that night because in my opinion, it will show that the army were there to actually kill and maim but with plans to clean up every trace pointing to them. The only problem with such assertion is they left eyewitnesses who claimed they were being shot at but lucky to make it out alive.
Another huge issue with DJ Switch claims is that who were those posting the supposed dead protesters online after the massacre; many of the claimed deceased later proved to be false. Those people who posted those images have done more harm than good to the massacre story and it watered down what really happened as many people are now doubting there was a real massacre.
I believe DJ Switch was at the epicenter of the massacre and must have some sort of proofs directly or from the other comrades she was protesting with. It is time she publish everything she has online so that the truth of what happened that day will be made known.

I am disappointed with the premature congratulatory messages offered to Biden by the UK, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Israel, India, Pakistan, Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, South Korea, Japan and a number of other countries.

I am dumbfounded by some Nigerian leaders who have also congratulated Biden including Muhammadu Buhari, Olusegun Obasano, Goodluck Jonathan, Abubakar Atiku, Bukola Saraki, Peter Obi and countless others.

This unnecessary fawning and belittling expression of love and support for their preffered candidate could at least have waited until the matter has been properly concluded.

If Donald Trump eventually prevails and he is sworn in on January 20th for a second term there are going to be a lot of very red faces on the world stage.

Whether anyone wishes to accept it or not, the fact of the matter is that the election results have NOT been confirmed and the Electoral College has NOT formally met and declared the outcome.

To add to that there are serious and credible claims of fraud, cheating, perfidy, voter suppression and election irregularities which the courts are yet to look into and clearly there is still a long way to go before the whole matter is brought to an end and formally concluded.

Congratulating the candidate of a political party that may well have ruthlessly and corruptly rigged his way to what is likely to end up being a pyrrhic and shortlived "victory" is not in our nation's interest, is not the way to enhance, strengthen, support and entrench democracy and does not speak well of those who have done so.

Whether you support Biden or Trump, let us at least wait for the matter to be properly concluded and a winner officially declared by the relevant authorities before we start dishing out our congratulatory messages like confetti at a white wedding.

Anything less is inappropiate, irresponsible, unbecoming, embarrassing and utterly slavish.
