Onion is one of the most used food items when making a dish. We all know how useful onion is whenever it comes to cooking.

Over the recent months onion has being so costly that the smallest bulb onion can be gotten at about 100 naira for one from the south east and south south of the country.

A lady from Anambra is very happy seeing the onions she planted in one of their backyard farm grow so big that she could not hide her joy but decided to share her story.

The young lady known as Matilda says the idea that the southeast soil cannot produce onion is a lie from the pit of hell and that such idea should not be taken serious.


Matilda who is a graduate of mass communication stated that the southeast soil is even more fertile than that of the north.

I decided to try and this is the outcome of my trail. She advised people to grow onions even if they are not commercial farmers,they can still clear a small portion of land to grow it since onion is a now on the increase.

All the regions of Nigeria are productive, we need to wake up and work things out.
