KingOdart:Your attempt at Yoruba altruism is weak and falls flat in the face of facts. Just yesterday, the SW govs and obas asked Buhari to open up the land borders cause the border communities are the worst hit. We all know those gaining from the border closure the most are the northerners. The only northerner who's taken a hit has just been granted exemption from the punishment. That doesn't look like altruism, rather, it looks survivalist. During the 80s/early 90s Yorubas held the economic wealth of Nigeria including the cement industry. Presently, we don't have any yet you say our loss is because we're angels who love our neighbors more than ourselves. Omo eni ò ní s'èdí bèbèrè ká f'ilèkè sí ìdí omo elòmíì. That's what Yorubas know not your bullshit losers theory which in all frankness sounds like "wetin pass you, na to appease am not fight am" |

SuperBold:All well and good then. But you need to know the Igbo are not your problem in this matter. So stop making Igbo the butt of everything wrong with Yoruba in contraption Nigeria. Look at how we have been treated by this govt and you'll find nothing impressive about it. What have we gained. It's been northocracy all along. All those Yorubas who have taken to supporting this govt just to spite the Igbos are the betrayers in our midst. This govt is running the country aground to favour the northern elites. That's the reality we need to face. |

Agbegbaorogboye: You are actually the one with the loser's theory here How many Yoruba have come out to say the government is making the cement manufacturing sector unfavorable for them or Dangote is sabotaging them in the industry? Dangote must be cheating because Yoruba can't compete with him in the cement industry, sound like a typical loser's theory here Yoruba also benefit from Niger delta resources and I think we will be hypocrites to cry over Northerners benefiting from our resources. If a Yoruba have the money to compete with Dangote in the cement sector let him step forward and if he is being sabotage let him speak up, that's how to fight I don't believe in stupid marginalization theory and that's actually the loser's theory. |

KingOdart:Where is elephant cement and wapco? That's how some Yorubas were dancing and supporting border closure at first. Here we are now that our govs and obas are asking for it to be opened. Short-sightedness can be mistaken for endurance. The Yorubas have always championed the management of resources by people/states who own it. That's what true federalism/restructuring is about and Yorubas are the champions of that. So, if you think Yorubas are hypocrites to ask for reopening of border for everyone and not dangote alone, then it shows you understand less what true federalism is about. Benefitting from resources is clearly different from monopolising it. Just as you said. Yorubas benefit from oil from the Niger Delta. That's discountenancing the fact that ondo is also oil producing. But so do Igbo, North and Niger Deltans themselves. Compare with the cement industry which was once controlled by Yorubas but which has been lost to dangote and bua. I still ask you where the fairness is in this matter of border closure. If they speak up, what will you do about it. 1 Like |

SuperBold: I really don't understand how some of u think.. Its not out of place to say the present generation of yorubas are the most indolent in modern era...or should I say it's the rent seeking political n economic system orchestrated by Tinubu at work.... The FG closed the border for 18 months n now decide to open it for just one person. Yet u see nothing wrong with it. Is Dangote the only exporter we have in Nigeria? Go to otta n Agbara, those manufacturers are the worst hit with the border closure. The leverage they enjoy by exporting their products to other west African countries have been destroyed by the closure, their supply chain was equally disrupted. It severely impacted on their gain. I really wonder the kind of economic system u people want for Yoruba land. A system where 1 or 2 persons control the market? Am not surprise because tinubu is already doing that in Lagos n u guys are very happy. Dangote can as well control the rest.... 2 Likes |

SIRTee15:I fear Yoruba youths are beginning to have their own almajiri franchise where you support and defend your oppressors as long as you share common language or religion with them. It's a serious concern for we the enlightened ones. Imagine how the dude turned Federal govt's gifting of access to dangote against Igbos. Is this really the new thing in Yorubaland? Re: FG Grants Dangote Cement Exemption From Land Border Closure by SIRTee15: 2:42pm On Nov 10, 2020 |
Agbegbaorogboye: I don't think it's about an almajri franchise. I'm sure it's the obsession with Tinubu presidency and 2023. They are desperate to do anything to make it a reality. If this includes overlooking the evil and oppressive acts of tinubu on his own people, they are fine with it. Very nauseating and selfish set of people. Lagos is suffocating from the rent seeking economy practiced by Jagagban n his puppet govt in Alausa. That state is being taxed to hell, while the govt does little or nothing in way of return. Above is the reason why they had to sent soldiers to shoot protesters at lekki just to allow for flow of revenue at the toll gate. Sometimes I wonder what will happen if the ACN faction of APC eventually lose out of the race in 2023. So what next after destroying their own legacy at home... These present Yorubas don't think...they got their heads in the sand or should I say tinubu's ass..... |
