You are talking rubbish

Both oil and gold are in the extractive industry
And must be under the control of the federal government

If the north say they want the states to control the gold

Then every southern state should control their own extractive minerals as well

It's that simple

Stop talking like a dunce
Solid minerals should be controlled by the fg but not the way the Niger delta is going about it

Lagos has oil at badagry and epe. Ondo state has oil also. Ilaje has oil and epe is close to ilaje.

We can't allow Aboki to finance their state with Lagos natural resources. Let the resources control begins. We'll take care of our other south west state simple
Resource control and regionalism is not the same, how is ekiti, osun Oyo going to survive

All u do is to keep yapping, we all know that one Nigeria can never work. But when a section calls for the total dissolution of the entity for all to be free and control their God given resources, the same people complaining will still come for their heads. Hypocrites everywhere.

Instead for this fool to use zamfara control of their gold as precedence towards pushing for full resource control of the oil in his state, the goat is upholding the satanic Marxist rcontrol of state mineral resources by the fulani govt.

Are you absolutely sure you read through the thread to understand the governor's views or you're one of those miscreants constituting nuisance on this platform by forming opinions and drawing conclusions based on headline alone.

I seriously advise this time you should calm down and carefully peruse the full thread and form a well informed opinion.

The government of Zamfara is not mining Gold, they are buying Gold from government approved miners and selling the Gold to the CBN, it's all legal and the ignorant governor from Delta can do the same thing instead of crying over nothing.

If Zamfara is allowed to control gold mining, other state governments should simply take over the control of resources found in their states. There is even no point giving the FG ultimatum. Is the the FG claiming ignorance or what?

Gold in Zamfara belongs to FG, says minister

The Federal Government said it would provide an enabling environment for gold mining activities so that Nigeria’s refinery can go into full production to deliver its product by the first quarter of 2021.

In addition, it added that any Nigerian or state government can apply process to the Ministry to buy any mineral, especially the acquisition of gold from Zamfara State, which is open to all citizens, and foreign investors.

Zamfara is not controlling or mining any gold, they are buying gold from government approved miners and storing the gold as reserves and investment.

You or any Nigerian can do the same thing too.

The noisy governor in Delta can buy gold from government approved miners and store the gold as gold reserve.

If the federal government of Nigeria can allow zamfara state to manage their resources, Why not also allow the south-south to manage their own resources? I think is high time we restructure this country for peace to rein. The governor of Delta State is right.

So, why is the governor deliberately trying to misinform the people? This kind of news can lead to serious uprising.

What reasonable percentage of oil does Ondo or Lagos produces? The South West is still heavily dependent on those oil proceeds from the Niger-Delta. Those loud-mouth South East own is even worse.
You all have to come to reality that the Niger-Delta feeds you all.
I admit jare , Niger deltas has to wake up. They use their oil money to search for oil at lake chad when they couldn't find any they came back to one Nigeria struggle.
Re: Okowa: It Is Unlawful For Zamfara To Control Gold by pacespot(m): 11:59am On Nov 12, 2020
The north behaves as if they are overlords in this country and others are their subjects, and before you say or do anything, they will send the military to your doorstep. They believe they have the military in control, reason for their belligerence. We need to restructure how we militarize in this country. The problem Nigeria is facing is common in most muslim majority countries. Islam believes in slavery, in fact, Arabs were one of those people with most black slaves in those days. They will use the weapons in their hands to enslave others they are stronger than, but if reverse is the case, they will come with diplomacy. Very hypocritical people undecided

Is there a difference between the reason why ojukwu went to war with Nigeria and restructuring? And a particular Southern region fought against the East? Restructuring kill you. The time for restructuring has passed. Nigeria should be splitted in 6 region. Everyone should answer his name
tollyboy5:
Young man calm down. Had it been the SE joined the restructuring struggle. The south would have spoken with one mind but no. They use Biafra to complicate things

Let's look at it this way, the oil in the Delta we are told all the time belongs to the people of the Delta and even here on NL, when they commission projects in Kano, we hear people rant all over the place that it's from oil money from Delta.

The Gold in the ground is from Zamfara state and the oil in the ground is from Delta state, but the FG controls both regardless what lay people say on the internet.

Saying the gold or oil belongs to you doesn't mean you control it.

Nigerians especially Nigerian youths lack intellectual curiosity, they are easily fooled and misled, they don't think, they don't apply sense and logic, they are like a freaking one track zombie, they run with whatever you throw in their face.

Recently, we saw how they were triggered to destroy based on cheap fake news and inciting graphics.

If the southern Nigeria tends to behave stupidly due to the actions of southwestern region, the northern Nigeria has no such intention. If the crude oil was struck in northern region of Nigeria, Nigeria would never materialized and the silly crap known as "One-Nigeria" would not have a chance in hell.
