Juliusmalema:I am glad that you agree that at one time they didn't have Kings. |

Okoroawusa:I didn't agree. I used Oyo to reply you back. Since your justification was Oyo, I gave you , your own limited knowledge in a limited way.. There have been king (obi) from ages |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by Okoroawusa: 8:56am On Nov 15, 2020 |
Juliusmalema:Don't get me wrong. I am not castigating you or doubting wether you are igbo. I'm just saying that every igbo town has its history and peculiarities. Perhaps you don't know that of Nnewi very well. |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by Nobody: 8:58am On Nov 15, 2020 |
Okoroawusa:Well the answers I gave you are right. The kingship have been there for ages. The king's daughter married and Osu. And he stated clearly that Igbo towns have kings but not all. So Igbo nwere Eze. |

Bkayyy:Nri agents from Oraeri were involved in title-taking in Nnewi in the old days. There's no need to deny this. |

Juliusmalema:This is how you know people that don't have a grasp on what they're talking about. They copy and paste from Wikipedia. Which one is Eze Nri of Awka? |

Ctorch:"...All I did as a youth was to take care of myself, cook for myself and read. ...I had no business with women. ...Unfortunately, this generation is funny. ...Today’s men are milked dry by women. ...When you give them money, your energy and time, you are wasting and killing yourself gradually." Statements I picked from the Igwe's interview. Strong. Very strong. ![]() |

RedboneSmith:I don't think so. Anaedo was fully independent. Mr man, remember Nri never conquered anybody and Igbo clans were autonomous. The only clan that was crowned by Nri was Onitsha. No other person |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by Bkayyy: 12:37pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
RedboneSmith:LOL, Awka was not even part of Nri and they have their own monarch known as Eze Ụzụ |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by RedboneSmith(m): 1:42pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
Bkayyy:You people still do not understand Nri hegemony and how it functioned. No one is saying that Anaedo wasn't fully independent. All the towns in which the Nri operated were fully independent. Nri was not an empire. Nnewi came within the field of operation of Nri agents from Nri. Ask the elders or read the history of Nnewi by John Alutu. |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by OfoIgbo: 2:57pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
Bkayyy:NRI also no longer crowns any kings, NRI used to crown every king in Igboland and Igodomigodo and Igala. All these changed around 1910 or so, when the. British forces Eze NRI Obalike to sever the cultural links between NRI and the Igbos. Subsequent warrant chiefs were forced to renounce Eze NRI in their oaths of office before the British recognized them. It is a long story. Anyway the crowning of kings was a spiritual exercise, which was why it was totally within the sphere of NRI duties |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by Bkayyy: 8:54pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
OfoIgbo:LOL at "every king in Igbo land" like there were more than two established Kingdoms in northern Igboland. Nri only crowns herself and Onitsha. The rest are established Republics and many headed by Obi and Okpala |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by OfoIgbo: 9:06pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
Bkayyy:According to the Nris, there were only 66 Igbo kingdoms before the coming of the Europeans. Ogwashiuku, Agbor, Onitsha, Uruala, Nnewi, Oraeri, NRI e.t.c Most towns were governed by the Nze na Ozo society or council of elders |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by Bkayyy: 9:14pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
OfoIgbo:That is where you get it wrong, apart Agbor, Onitsha, Ogwashi ukwu and ụmụ eri the rest are Republics. Yes they have Nze na Ọzọ but you know that a community has lots of those and in some, one represents a sub clan in the community and then goes with the title Obi. As for the Nnewi issue, you have a good point because I believe that their modern history of severing many links including that of the origin of Uruagu Nnewi was based on political importance. After all the anaedo clan is made up of Nnewi, ịchị and Oraifite signing the Ikenga, obi and ifite/ihite which is a sign of Nri and originality of a true Igbo clan |

OfoIgbo:No disrespect but you make some wide claims that arent substantiated. You boast and claim all sort of things you cant defend. And, yes the Okodu clan has Nri migrants but I will never talk as careless as you do. You are also very disrespectful to your brethren. Tone it down a bit |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by IDENNAA(m): 12:00am On Nov 16, 2020 |
OfoIgbo:Nnaa, take it easy , you are too aggressive and boastful. Yes, Nri played a major role in shaping Igbo culture but lets slow down so that people can accord us the respect we deserve. Also , there is nothing like Nri and Igbo! Many communities paid homage to Eze Nri as a spiritual head who administer rituals. Nri , which I am of the lineage are bonafide Igbo. |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by OfoIgbo: 2:49am On Nov 16, 2020 |
Bkayyy:So you believe you know about monarchies in Igboland, better than those that instituted and crowned those monarchs in ancient times? What is your source of information on Igbo monarchy? Don't you think the best source of information on Igbo monarchy is NRI? The same NRI that crowned well known non-Igbo monarchs that the whole world marvels at? I am here, telling you that there were 66 monarchies in Igboland before the coming of the white people, according to the Nris, and you are here quoting an unknown source. There were 100s, if not more than a 1,000 of Igbo towns in the past, so 66 monarchies is a small fraction. |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by OfoIgbo: 3:04am On Nov 16, 2020 |
IDENNAA:I fail to see the aggression in the message you were referring to. I was dishing out pure unadulterated information. From time to time, I can get spirited especially when I notice someone getting lackadaisical about his or her ancestry, or disparaging Nri-Igbo contributions to Igbo, Benin and Igala cultural practices. Alarm bells start going off in my mind, reminiscent of alarm bells that go off in Igbo people, when Ikwerres deny their Igboness. It doesn't make sense when an Igbo person is annoyed with the Ikwerres for denying their Igboness, while at the same time, the same Igbo person is denying his or her NRI cultural links. |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by IDENNAA(m): 3:37am On Nov 16, 2020 |
OfoIgbo:I get it and often times I would correct people but be classy about it, so , that people can respect Nri-Igbo. You are not the only one that love Nri , the descendant of this civilization are littered all over eastern or western flank. But , now , you are sounding like you have some inferior mindset due to your abrasive attitude. |
| Re: Igwe Kenneth Orizu: Why I Abolished Osu Caste System by OfoIgbo: 5:22am On Nov 16, 2020 |
IDENNAA:Inferior mindset as in what ?Anybody with genuine lack of knowledge on NRI matters, I supply humbly. Anybody that wishes to be condescending or insulting, gets insulted, and that is the way it's gonna be. I probably know more about the Nris than anyone else in this forum, so there is the likelihood that people may see the new information I reveal from time to time, as boastful, and possibly made up. It is in fact because of that same reason that I have chosen not to reveal all, that I know about NRI here. There are a number of things that I know that will even baffle Umu-Nri people in this forum, so there is no room for inferiority mindset with me. A few years and months ago, Benin people in this forum had a freehand in twisting history and claiming how they civilized the Igbos. I don't remember reading you or the other Umu-Nri forumites, putting up an appreciable challenge, to correct the falsified history. To me that is inferiority mindset. I was the person that helped provide evidence here of Igbo cultural independence, and in fact Benin cultural reliance on Nri-Igbo people. Some other Igbo battlers helped in that fight. Don't you know that whenever Igbos are attacked culturally, it is the duty of the Nris to lead in that fight? Look at the identity crisis crippling the Ikwerres and Ogbas. Do you know that neither IPOB nor Ohanaeze has what it takes to reverse that. What does Nnia Nwodo or Nnamdi Kanu know about foundation of Igbo towns and cultural practices. Do you know that the only clan that can reverse the cultural rot in Rivers state is the NRI clan. That is the only clan that can effectively shrink the proverbial Benin cultural d!ck and history twisting that has gone unchallenged in Rivers. But I am not allowed to reveal this because it will start seeming as though I am boasting. Igbos are their own worst enemies at times. Today the Edo state government properly funds the Oba of Benin palace. Ooni of Ife is properly funded. But the Eze NRI palace is not funded at all by the Anambra state government. The Eze just received the same stipends as any warrant chief. What this means is that the Oba of Benin can set up efforts to twist history in Igbo speaking areas, and NRI doesn't have the resources to protect Igbo cultural frontiers. That is what we now see, happening in Rivers state. Another long story I prefer to avoid at this juncture |

Till then. I can conviniently convince you that wicked people don't die before their time. They live long to perpetuate their wickedness. Many examples abound in the scriptures and in this contemporary life. Some die young, for example armed robbers, bank robbers etc but the con men among them might live old but they will also die a gruesome death. Who wants or plans to die a gruesome death?. |
