Umahi knows deep down within him that he is lying just to pursue his personal ambition but time will tell,he just gave PDP an impossible demand to create an excuse for his long desired action, it's clearly too early for any party to categorically make a pronouncement on zoning now considering that zoning is not a constitutional requirement neither is it accepted by all political parties, the igbos has been the greatest injustice to themselves politically,Alex Ekwueme an igbo man of blessed memory brought the idea of zoning to pdp which made the party to be widely accepted in 1999,the SW had the first shot through obssanjo, the NW had the next shot through yaradua in 2007, when yar'adua died in 2010 it was in the best interest of the igbos to have defended zoning vehemently by either insisting that the north should produced a candidate in 2011 or for an assurance that the presidency will go back to the north after Johnathan i.e SS so that when the presidency get back to the South it will simply be theirs they failed n were reaching all sorts of agreement with Johnathan, political experience would have shown them the danger in that but personal greed like what is pushing Umahi right now blinded them, umahi is so blind by greed that he can't learn from the experience of okorocha,PDP gave igbos SE so much talk of COAS, SENATE PRESIDENTS etc n critical analysis of the total number of vote casted against number of registered voters will easily so you that had the SE actually turned out n voted massively for pdp like the way the north voted for buhari PDP wouldn't have lost the elections, imagine states with over a million registered voters producing less than 400000 total votes casted for all parties!, igbos are simply yet to master the art of politics due to individual greed, yes the SE deserve the presidency come 2023 for equity sake especially on the platform of PDP but it should be a strategic n collective approach at the right time, why couldn't Umahi wait for at least the end of 2021 to make his demands, asking PDP for such now is simply setting a deadly trap for the with intent to destroy her, that was how okorocha quickly left the collective bargain of his kinsmen to rush to the Apc n began to claim or sort achievement n rights, how has it turn out for him, perhaps the north through buhari had craftly sold Umahi a nice dummy,he would realize his folly in a pitiable way eventually, good luck to him,but igbos seriously need to change their approach.

This is good politics.

Nobody Lord Tinubu when he was a state leader.
Tinubu no Lord Buhari as he leads.
Buhari and Tinubu will not Lord Umahi if he makes it.

Am sure umahi will appreciate them for life on his own. But am sure in the end of his tenure, they would be happy to have been part of his and more importantly the societal success.

Is not a thing of fear. Tinubu respects Buhari and vice versa. Of course, there would be favors involved. We all hope that the favors will not be to the detriment of the people. Is good for a wise man to learn from others and even have an experienced mentor(s).

Am not part of the zoning idea. I think we need to have an open ended way of modifying choice without suppressing a group of people or even a tribe.

For me, I currently support the most effective leader that has actions in deed. A leader don't have to be a state or even rep to qualify; but I think you should have some impact in the society. I believe that choosing from the current crop of state leaders is a good way to judge currently. Later, we can expand to reps and co.

To be honest, I don't know what ipob can propaganda on, if we had an igbo as naija number 1 , and even more if he/she is impactful for the whole naija. Ipob whole propaganda has been the open and hidden discrimination against igbos. Which many igbos know and experience too well. But it will be an irony that the apc, Buhari, and Tinubu that most people tribally accuse, are the same party and people that wants to help you the most to get that position. And if you ask me, they found the right person to support based on merit. Other state leaders were account packing from day 1 while Umahi was busy working, impacting, and improving lives from day 1.

Pdp need to improve themselves and structure.

Apc cannot honestly find another effective leader like Umahi right now. If Umahi makes it off merit without much competition, don't you think the next crop of leaders will start being effective all the way down to Lg. So if everybody is on point, then you can zone with confidence and it will improve naija in the process. Then the round after that, you can expand the choice bracket to impactful citizens with the other groups.

I don't think Umahi will fold his hand and not do anything more in his state until 2023. He will still be busy just like Buhari, prof. Osibanjo and other leaders. But if they all have a mutual respect and understanding, it will help for a better naija in terms of transition which will help umahi in a national way. It will make future leaders sit up. And it will be a good legacy for Buhari, prof osibanjo, Tinubu, and other party supporters. They would have raised the standard of leadership choice.

All these don't say Buhari don't have an F on the economy currently. But he is slowly strengthening unity. We hope umahi don't make his early mistake of tribal cabinet choices If he makes it to that position. Maybe Buhari suspicion on people caused it, but I think the next person should learn from that and improve the unity. Pick the best persons from as many states and tribes as possible. Remember it is a collective effort.

DOHMH agrees that limited testing has resulted in many undetected COVID-19 cases, but this is also due to strict testing standards. At the beginning of the pandemic, only New Yorkers with symptoms of the coronavirus at the time were allowed to be tested, and they needed a doctor’s permission. Now all New Yorkers can be tested. However, despite Cuomo's announcement on Thursday that they can get results within a day, some people said they have waited more than a week for the results.

Speaking of Igbo presidency, Edwin Clark said Tinubu should allow Igbo to take the turn.

https://www.nairaland.com/6026788/presidency-edwin-clark-says-tinubu

In other he is saying that Tinubu is bigger than the entire south east combined. And the only way for an Igbo to emerge as presidential candidate, is if Tinubu allows it.

So the way forward is for the elders of Indigbo to make a trip to bourdillon, kneel down and beg Tinubu to allow an Igbo man emerge as presidential candidate.

Unfortunately most Igbos don't understand politics especially because of pride...
Key factor in politics is lobbying ;Igbos will only shout, fake news n scatters everything without achieving anything

The statement above is hurting IPOB badly;lobby Tinubu factor?

Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi has said he wants to be a martyr who will be sacrificed to achieve the much-sought Igbo presidency.

Umahi made the declaration on Tuesday in Abakaliki while briefing newsmen, noting that only martyrs make sacrifices for the peoples’ interest in difficult times.

The governor, who confirmed that he is defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC), said he will not regret the decision no matter its outcome.

“I have to lead the protest against the marginalisation of the Igbos by the PDP and I don’t have to consult anybody to lead such a protest.

“I don’t want the PDP to collapse in the south east but it can collapse itself in the zone if it does not heed to the peoples’ advice to entrench justice, fairness and equity.

“The PDP should be bold to declare its stand on zoning of the presidency to the south east and if it cannot, should tell us why we are not capable of holding such a position but will come for our votes during elections,” he said.

Umahi said that the decision to leave PDP was not about leadership but about patriotism, justice, fairness and the overall interest of the people.

“I am not vying for any position in the APC so anybody who does not like me over the defection will be fighting the air.

“I will instead play the fatherly role of guiding anyone who wants to vie for any position because it is a waste of time for any governor to seek replacing himself.

“When you are looking for everybody to be loyal to you in politics, you might not get to your destination because destinations are not straight but full of obstacles,” he said.

Umahi said that he will not be disturbed if the APC fails to zone the presidency to the south east but will depend on God to determine the matter.

“The APC, however, appears to be amenable towards working with the south east even though the south east never supported it the way it supported the PDP since 1999.

“We would be 24 years with the PDP by 2023 and Ebonyi, under my administration, will testify the numerous feats we have attained with the support of my friend and father, President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said.

He said that his defection has created a political gathering and mass movement, unprecedented in Ebonyi history with both PDP and APC faithful coming together to pursue a common cause.

“I will have no regrets if our agitations are not met in APC as it will be on record that a governor was sacrificed for the betterment of his people on what is rightfully, their due.

“We will still protest if we are still unfairly treated in the APC because protest is the beauty of democracy and if it doesn’t work now, it can work in future,” he said. (NAN)

And who are the founders of PDP? You people should stop bringing emotions and tribalism to politics. Without support from Hausa or Yoruba, you can't go anywhere in Nigerian politics. Even the north alone cannot achieve presidency without support from either Yoruba or Igbo.

... And you forgot one of the big names in APC. The only man who have never changed political party.. a former Presidential aspirant under the then ANPP, a former Abia state governor before the creation of Ebonyi state. The current Minister of science and technology.. He might be a calm kind of person, but he is one of the most respected names in APC, and he was the one that suggested the amalgamation and formation of APC...
Umahi coming to APC is a game changer, and it will distort the political climate for now.. This is because, the relationship between the north and the south west is very sour now, and the best they can do is to align with the south east, and south South.. If care isn't taken, SW might be turned minority in Nigeria politics..

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan PDP - Igbos Supported 2015.

With all this PDP is finding it difficult to zone Presidency to South East?
From 1999 to 2015 Igbos of part of South South and South East never benefited anything expect ministerial appointment.
