April 1st applicant with upfront medical. No update till I got AIP August 5th. No correspondence till date. I have since started lectures online. My school was added to the DLI with Covid-19 readiness plan 2 days ago. And after series of mails and webforms with medical result attached, I got this...

I wish to inform you that, in accordance with the Access To Information Act*, an extension of 60 days beyond the statutory 30 day limit is necessary to process your request. Please o, I was reading through IRCC site about the documents one needs to present at POE, amongst other things I saw proof of funds. Does this mean that we will reprint account statement close to departure or what?

Hi
Did you apply in Turkey? I applied on the 1st of April and got AIP on the 6th although it was dated 5th. Later got my BVL immediately my DLI was Covid ready which was the first batch. The following day got my PPR. I think the delay is because of your school just being approved at a time there is a lot of backlog of applications to roll out as per PPRs and the rest. It appears they are really overwhelmed and are trying to slow down the pace of processing applications. I even understand that India VACs have been closed for now. I know it can be frustrating..... let’s not loose faith, you will get there.

I am aware of a young lady that was almost turned back because she hadn’t paid her winter semester tuition and was traveling for the winter semester.
Based on that story I assume it’s either you’ve paid the semesters tuition and can show proof or you have it with you.

Indian VACs will be open from tomorrow. There has been relative ease though

Thank you for your response.

Hello Fareemah,

If you're already in the EE pool, you may look at PNPs or use the next 6 months in learning French and try to score CLB 7 if possible. Your CRS score will be above 500 and if your above to get a nominee from any province, your CRS score will be above 1000 sufficiently enough to get ITA.

All the best

Hi Frankrobbn1

What's the probability of a spouse being given work permit when the other one is applying for a canadian student permit? From your experience, how sure is it?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by fareemah: 11:25pm On Nov 19, 2020
Thank you all for your responses.

But I also want to ask if it's most likely I get MSc scholarship with my profile.

Like I said earlier, I have M.Sc , ACA and 10 years work experience in same Audit . I am also married with 2 dependants.I would like my family to join me.

Do I have a good chance of getting study visa if I secure admission?

What are the chances of getting scholarship in probably M.Sc Finance / Accounting or other related courses?

Will a previous MSc degree give me a better chance of getting study visa and probably scholarship?

Also as regards my spouse, what kind of opportunity can he get on temporary work permit?

Please enlighten me on available choices so I can pick the most suitable option to immigrate to Canada.

With appreciation.

Hi @justmellow,

Thank you so much for your analysis.

The passport for my previous travel history is missing but i got a police report for it.

I think I will need guidance for my study plan.

I am already working on the activity of the account and the other things you mentioned.

Do you have any ideas on how I can show that my circumstances have improved since the last time I applied?

JustMellow:

Hello Oreafe,

From what I understand from the notes, you should probably try to improve in these areas,

1. Your study plan/LOE or go for a program more related.

2. Include evidence of your travel history

3. Prior to your reapplication, build your account according to the inflows and avoid any lumpsum deposit. If any, carefully explain it and give source and reasons.

4. Your future prospect or career goal should be spelt out. Enlighten the VO on its lucrativeness amidst the current employment situation in your home country.

5. Demonstrate that your spouse (and you) are independently well-established both economical and socioculturally. Also include spouse's proof of source of funds.

6. Demonstrate how the kids would fair in your absence and steps taken to ensure that their welfare are meant.

7. Provide additional evidence that may help the VO understands the lucrativeness and employability of your prospect course and ways you've planned out to recoup the expenses back home.

8. In your letter, don't tell the VO that you're a genuine student and the VO figure that out through your filed application and good worded letter.

9. Include any relevant documents that can further help to demonstrate how your situation has improved or changed from the last.

10. Keep both eyes on your home ties.

All the best.

Please House, My friend got a mail from IRCC requesting:
1. Proof of finance from mybankstatement.com

2. IELTS Certificate of 6.0 or more in all sections.

Can she ask for a certificate of exemption from IELTS from her school since they did not ask for it during the application. She is going for her masters.
Can the IELTS exemption certificate suffice for IELTS certificate?

Thank you in anticipation of your responses
