Sen. Kalu, Onu, Okorocha, Others Keep Mum As Umahi Defect To APC

Despite Governor David Nweze Umahi’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, a chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Abia North at the National Assembly and also a Chieftain of APC in South East is yet to welcome or congratulate Umahi for his defection.

Also, Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Senator Rochas Okorocha are yet to congratulate Governor Umahi for his defection.

IGBERE TV gathered that with Umahi’s defection to APC, the race for who will flag the party’s Presidential ticket has tighten and will not be uhuru for anyone incase APC decides to zone it Presidential ticket to South East.

According to sources, top Senators, Ministers from South East are still contemplating the way forward with Umahi’s defection to the party.

Although, Umahi has maintained that APC did not promise him a Presidential Ticket, our source said the Governor is making plans to contest for a bigger position under APC.

IGBERE TV reports that Umahi was received by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Thursday following his official defection to APC.

IGBERE TV recalls that the National Assembly members from Ebonyi State, on Wednesday, disowned Governor, David Umahi, who has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

The leader of the Ebonyi State PDP caucus in the national parliament, Senator Sam Egwu, who read the position of his colleagues at a press conference in Abuja, said none of the lawmakers would defect with Umahi.

They described as unacceptable and selfish, the reasons given by Umahi for his action.

The briefing was attended by all the Ebonyi State federal legislators including, Senator Obinna Ogba

Senator Mike Ama Nnachi, Sylvester Ogbaga, Igariwey Iduma Enwo, Chukwuma Nwazunku, Edwin Anayo and Livinus Makwe

The Senate Minority Leader Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe was also at the event to show solidarity.

They complained that Dave Umahi refused to consult them in all of these. That to me is being disrespectful. If Dave Umahi has the humility he is claiming, he should have started his consultation from home, instead of jumping ahead of them to Abuja, thereby treating them as if they don't matter.

Umahi's move is a very smart move; he seems to have less baggages hence more attracted to PMB. Umahi is far more smarter than the three, and they know it. He has been romancing aso rock before now, until he found opportunity to attack pdp on a subject matter they can not recover from for a long time no matter how they pretend over it (presidency ticket). Understanding the effect his argument will bring to the s/east apc leadership gave him a massive welcome.
The truth is pdp is not ready to give s/east anything. So if apc gives umahi ticket he wins even if they did not give him anything, he still wins.

The battle for who holds the presidential ticket becomes tougher

And Umahi is a sitting governor with a better port folio
I think he has an edge over them �
