Lagosians Groan As Massive Traffic Jams Bring The City To A Halt. by naptu2(op):
There have been massive traffic jams this morning as Lagosians suffer the effects of multiple road closures in the city.

Two of the three major bridges that connect the Island to the Mainland have been closed this morning. The Third Mainland Bridge is partially closed for repair works, the Eko Bridge has been closed because of the Lagos Women's Run and this has left Lagosians with the Carter Bridge as the only route to get from the Island to the Mainland.

To make matters worse, several roads on the Mainland have also been closed because of the railway modernisation programme.

The situation is also made worse by the absence of security and traffic officers on many streets in the metropolis since the End SARS riots.

Lagosians have taken to Twitter to complain about what they are suffering this morning.

grin still don't understand why it's a must for Lagos state government to hold this marathon. On a normal day traffic in Lagos is mad then they have to hold this marathon and add to the problem...

Then again those complaining about the traffic, weren't they informed before hand about the closed roads?

We don't have leaders, all we have are insensitive rulers, in developed Nations before any repair work is undertaken, they send mails and inform citizens on alternative routes, and put traffic controllers on stand by all through, but here, our rulers sees us as below cattle, worthy to be treated like animals, with no respect or regard. Come to pH city and see our governor block all our access roads unannounced without any care in the world, and his sycophants go about shouting Mr project, while d people groan under d burden and .economic loss time of traffic gridlocks. What a sheer pity

The after effect of end sars movement. You dont fight evil and expect evil not to fight back. There is a recent wave of insecurity in the country that I feel is a deliberate effort by the government to instill fear in us.

What Lagos needs is underground metro... From one area to the other. Case solved. Unfortunately, they will tell you they have no money even though a chunk of what Tinubu stole can help do that..

Nigeria's biggest city, one squeeze sends a resounding message. To me Lagos still has lots of untapped islands at it's eastern coasts why don't d government develop them so these activities would take place there.

Passengers in an Abuja-kaduna bound train lamented after their train broke down on the middle of nowhere for over 2 hours without any help coming from Railway cooperation.

The visibly distraught passengers had no option than to disembark from their coaches, wilt some sitting down on the rail tracks as they patiently wait for technicians to come fix the train.
