“When we got to Dutse, we stopped at a junction leading to the bush. We met soldiers there and they stopped ordered us to sit down. The soldiers observed that all of us were carrying nylon bags and the items and they asked what were in the nylon bags. We told them that we are carrying money to pay ransom for the students that were kidnapped. The soldiers wished us safe journey to the bush and we parked the car at the junction. We trekked far inside the bush from Dutse and handed over the money to the Kidnappers and they released the girls to us.”

The northern politicians are really hitting it big. Politicians by direct and kidnappers by proxy. The poor have barely enough to eat and the little they have is still taken from them by politicians kidnappers. They called for it though.
Me and my region are not without issues though, so let me better face mine.

Meanwhile the governor was organizing Kaduna Marathon instead of ensuring that the kidnapped people were rescued.

In saner climes, they sent their elite squad to rescue 1 (one) citizen kidnapped

Fake news, no video evidence and even there is (its definitely doctored), the reported killings and kidnapping in ths North are just an attempt to give this performing government a bad name.
What a foolish thing to say. You must be a clown.

Wickedfact:
I don't blame the soldiers. They are also victims helpless in this situation. I am only concerned about the fact that things have gotten so bad that soldiers now pray for families of kidnappers as if all hope is lost and only Allah can help them.
Yes, but the thing with kidnapping cases, you have to be careful.

Some eyars ago former Eagles captain Yobo's brother was kidnapped. Police was ready to go in. Yobo begged them not to go in because he was worried that if the kidnapers saw police , they would kill their victim, his brother. (He paid a ransom).

Unlike some people, I did not blame GEJ for not sending army immediately to free chibok girls. If he had done that....Boko would have just shot the girls, and that would have been that.

Plus we don't know if the police is not activein this case. For all we know they have sent in someone to track the kidnappers and are waiting to strike.

Still, the ncreased criminality is proof that this government is not working

'....and the soldiers wished us safe journey...' as you were about to embark on the journey...like Apostle Paul heading to Rome and certain death

Hmmm....if you know what I am thinking right now....
....can it get any lower than this....
.... tell me who is enjoying any of this...
.... tell me who regards all these as a normal way a society should exist...a normal way a country should be run...

Of all countries in the world and I am a Nigerian! To be frank and I don't like that fact at all.
No quality leadership, no security, no light, no tap water, no good roads, no good hospitals, just nothing!!!
2nd recession in 5 years, dolar almost 510 naira, building of rail line to Niger of just 3k capacity a day and importing fuel from them as compared to our 2.5million a day!! Inflation almost at 35percent and fuel price getting to almost 180naira. Blaming past administration instead of tackling issues. The fact that they and their family members don't feel this hardship makes it worse.
I am tired of this country

Which border closure. Most of the borders in the north are separated by houses.

Ok, put yurself in the soldier's place...

A group of people are going to the bush to meet kidnappers. You have no knowledge of

1.Hw many kidnappers they are

2.How well armd they are?

Plus even if the soldiers called for backup....the kidnapers could kill their victims first before going to face the soldiers coming in. That''s what happened in a case in Sokoto in 2014....as soon as kidnappers saw solders, they killed their victim and went to face the soldiers.
In Nigeria.
It's just impossible to tackle the kidnappers.
I wonder why soldiers undergo training (if at all they do so here).

I read that soldiers from the US were deployed to rescue *a* citizen of the soil.
Well in the process, all abductors were killed and the victim was taken back home alive.

And come to think of it,the students were not kidnapped today.

Even after the ransom was paid, the kidnappers are still at large, roaming free. Searching for next available human "ATM".
Funny enough, they might initiate more miscreants and the hood continues.

What do I know.

Stop these silly infantile excuses,

The soldiers at the check point don't have adequate intelligence

Plus American defence spending is ten times higher than our annual budget. As such they have access to gadgets that we can only dream of.

This particular kidnap made headlines all over the country!
Don't we have intelligence in the army (rhetorical question)
The fact that soldiers were even posted close to the kidnapers den and had no clue is a testament to the joke called Buratai
Except ofcourse they were protecting the kidnappers like Wadume's case

My brother, stop deceiving ur self. Igbos in power are not in control of anything..

From west to east to Noth to south, Nigeria is wack.

Nigeria is wack. Travel out and u will cause the rest of the lives u spent here.

Soldiers telling citizens safe trip to go into the Bush to rescue their own daughters and sons is the crazy.

East, West, North, South, are the same.

No proper housing.

Massive unemployment
Poverty capital of the world.
Poor looking universities. I'm sure u saw those south African universities. I checked some syllabus of ordinary south African universities and I was shocked.

No water
No emergency services
Kidnapping up and down
Electricity poor
Dirty looking state capitals.

Chaotic traffic and unorganized cities

The list goes on. It is same all over the country. I have traveled to many states.

Nigeria is shit. North and West have ruled Nigeria more and still they are same as the entire country.

I was in osun state few weeks ago. Same thing as any other state I have visited. Poverty, dirty looking third world states. Shame on us all.
