If you had indicated from the onset it was your advice and not a rule, you probably would have been applauded.
If I were you, I'd apologize and move on - after all no one is above mistake - but I guess that's difficult for you, right?

You can make your point without throwing shades.

Get behind me!

Hi I noticed you've gotten some weird advice and I'll try to give you an honest one - the method I used.

For computer based listening, practice is key. You're advised to write down the answers (a blank scratch paper was given to me) as you hear them because the recording WON'T be played again. I practiced this same scenario many times so I was confident before writing.

The questions are structured in sets of 5 or 10, and you'll have between 30seconds to 1minute between each question set. Use this time to review and type your answers.

Your answers per question won't be longer than 2 or 3 words so you shouldn't be worried about not having time to transfer your answers.

Once again, practice is key.
Good luck.

1 minute for each question or 30 seconds.. so u would be given 1 minute to prepare ur answers before typing it..

Hi All,

I really need your help with filling my form to enter the pool, please allow me provide examples to explain my case better.

NAME: SANDRA DORIS EKU-OKA (EKU-OKA being a compound name)

Issue: I have the above stated name on all my documents through school and national ID as well, however i made a mistake during my passport application by alternating my middle name with my first, which means Doris has my first name and Sandra as my middle name - Doris Sandra Eku-Oka (what i have in my passport)

Now i am trying to fill my documents to enter the pool but i am so confused on what to use, If i use my national id (which bares the right order and way my name should be) under the ID Summary it wouldn't fly because they are also asking for issue date and when it expires which our National id obviously doesn't have. However, if i use my passport, wouldn't it be just wrong since my other documents have the right format..

I would really appreciate a feedback on this to enable me continue and enter the pool.

Thank you

This is easy and difficult, easy because you'll just apply for rearrangement of name on your passport in immigration office, difficult because this can only be done in Abuja. If you're in Abuja then it won't take time. You can pm me if you need further assistance.

By the way, I see a lot of people mentioning ACCA here. If you want to make any enquiry or have any complaint or issue and need to contact the ACCA Nigeria office, kindly let me know and I’ll ensure you are sorted out.
My own little way of helping on the thread

I can't see any issue here. Arrangement of names does not mean anything. Your name is your name. Use the name as you have it on ur international passport. To sleep well ( if you think it is necessary), back your application up with a LOE explaining all the instances of name arrangement. Some people also sworn affidavit - One and Same person affidavit see copy on page 1

Good luck.

This is not true. Are you sure you have written ielts before? You are required to write on the question paper during listening after which you are giving 10 mins to transfer your answers to the answer sheet. No misinform people o

phabulous88:

In listening, you’re not even supposed to write in the question paper, whether CBT or paper based. You should write your answers directly as the recording only plays once

Just go hubbys work history, you will be asked if he has work history? if you say no you wont need to provide reference letter. however, his work activities should be under his personal history which you dont need to get reference letters.

Prehciousness:

How did you change to No because I also filled hubby's work history and we have to provide reference letter

The name on the passport supersedes and national ID. Canada dont care about that.
You use passport name and do one and the same affidavit.

Hey AyeeshaB,

CAVEAT: I AM NOT A VO neither do I process applications for people, but like most people in this thread, I have applied for this, I want the best for everyone and surely, my application is in good stand. So, whatever is written below is an unbiased interpretation of what is on the IRCC's website alongside proven personal experience and knowledge from this forum.

I am particularly taking a keen interest in this question even if it has been answered multiple times before. This is because I delayed my "plugging" into the pool for almost 2 years searching for how to gather the POF, how to meet the requirement while ensuring that I abide by their rules (since 2017). Also, I feel it would be quite informative if I pour out all I know about it and the "general" confusion surrounding POF AND THE SIX MONTH SOA (Statement of Account).

I see the majority of your questions centers around POF, as such let's take a quick view of what qualifies in order to present an acceptable POF. (no sentiments attached)

So, I made a quick road trip to the IRCC's portal on the page with the sub-header "WHAT WE ACCEPT AS PROOF"; Link HERE. Image below.

In the image, I made some inkings with 4 Colours; - let me explain;
1. RED: What you cannot use - in your case, this has no effect, so we will skip it since you'll be using "Money in the Bank" (let's call it Cash). This by all means is the easiest form to prove because it is the sole form that meets their requirement 100%.

2. YELLOW: Borrowed Funds. Well, the only way the VO can prove that the money is not borrowed by you presenting ONLY A LETTER (This is what is requested) is by ensuring you have a history with the bank or financial institution, thus, the reason for the AVERAGE BALANCE FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS. Note: this will be low if you just recently dropped a lump sum or rarely use the account. - A red flag. Also 6months Average is not 6Months SOA, in fact, you're actually giving the VO work to do by converting your raw data (cash entries) into 6months Average. - Sorry, no yellow inking on Nairaland tongue

3. GREEN: Readily available cash for settlement aka "everyday spending". This is where "CASH IS KING" got its entitlement and the edge over every other means for POF. Remember - CASH IS KING. I am a witness to this.

4. BLUE: How to Prove your money. This, clearly stated with 5 bullets and 4 sub-points what is required to effectively prove you have the minimum required money needed for settlement in Canada.

Now that we know what and how to prove a POF, let's have a deep dive into your questions.

1. Is it okay if the bank letter/ statement is up to 3 weeks old before the application submission date or what is a safe acceptable timeline?
- Please let's assume you stick with what is requested - A LETTER - NOT STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT! In this case, if you have always had your money since forever in that account, you may just pull up a recent letter that meets those requirements in the bullet. Note, recent here is subjective, however, if you can get a letter of 3weeks old in their requested format, I doubt it will be an issue.
ANS: It is Okay. There is no "safe acceptable timeline" per the information on the IRCC page.
Mine: First POF - a week old, Second: 2 weeks plus.
- Never got ADR for Fund. - Never! (FYI: Submitted POF twice because of the new addition, although my first already covers for the new addition(new baby), I just prefer to make documentation easy for the VO - Choice)

2. In a case where I want to include salary inflows into my account do I need the whole account statement for the duration or I can take a screenshot of the exact inflow days?
No one really asked for SOA (Statement of Account). This is just a conception someone coined possibly to avoid unnecessary suspicion and probably to explain some certain inflows. Well, today it has gotten general acceptance - I blame no one.
ANS: There is absolutely no need to highlight or screenshot specifics. If you want to add SOA, it should be because you want to "sleep well or at least give yourself the benefit of doubt" that you were able to prove your POF or cover your tracks, grin as the case may be.
MINE: First - Only the official letter from Zenith Bank - Savings Account, Second - Only the official letter from Zenith Bank - Savings Account! grin No SOA whatsoever - Na! I don't buy that. I believe in the simplicity of my application.
Note: both letters at the 2 Instances met their bullets - I ensured I drafted it for the bank and had them give me in that format. - You can PM me if you want a copy - signed/stamp and on their Letterhead. - Never got ADR for Fund. - Never! (My application was confirmed approved in 3months, if not for Corona wey come pour sand inside my garri, and now baby come join grin I no go kill myself nah grin grin grin)

3. Do all the addresses on all my documents need to be the same (current address, PCC, bank statement/letter, Pension letter). I have not updated my addresses in some of my banks.
ANS: Hey, worry less! The majority of these documents do not even have your past, current, or future address lol. Seriously, don't worry about all these. There are days ahead where you'll pray to sleep only because of endless thoughts about your submitted application and the wait. Please don't start this way. No Nah. Please get your document and upload it.
PCC - Purple page - No address, Bank Letter - No address, RSA/PFA - No address. So, why the headache.

4. Is it okay after application to move money from where it was, I do not intend to spend it, I just want to Invest it while I wait for PPR because it has been lying in my dollar account for months with no interest.
ANS: Please do not make things complicated, in fact, try to make it simple for you, yourself, and everyone. What I would advise you is to put on a scale, the benefit of both decisions - That is, if you leave your money the way it is in the bank VS if you move it. Trust me, if you do the latter it throws a red flag should they mistakenly ask for Schedule 4A - ADR for POF (You've got only one shot away from straight rejection - surely, you don't want to be in this situation) or even if your application has been approved and you fly, how do you want to explain to any "overzealous" CBSA officer at your POE.
My advice is please leave the money there, after all, unless you plan to stay ONE YEAR after PPR before you travel, then you can invest after PPR, the ROI on most investment isn't that glorious, anyways! When you reach your apartment for obodo Canada, you can make it the first in your TODO list grin
MINE: Family of 4 yet, I allow the money to stay stupid there in the bank by now (11months) it would be close to another Million if invested in ordinary yeye 12% Mutual Funds self. But 1M isn't worth a rejection abeg, only IELTS self take almost 600K from me. Biko I cannot come and settle fight with VO wey no like to hear word.

Once again, I personally want to say the issue of POF is one that has hindered many, caused rejection, and has caused many headaches to plenty. Like all issues of Money, always remember the easier it is to explain the better it is to convince, anyone.

I hope this has been informative and helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.

You'll have 30sec/1min BETWEEN question sets to check/type your answers. The entire test has 40 questions broken down into sets of 5 or 10.

1 minute for each question or 30 seconds.. so u would be given 1 minute to prepare ur answers before typing it..

Do you have a question paper or an extra 10 minutes in computer based exam?

No vex!

People need to understand that they are working against time, and learn how to manage their time well.

FYI, I wrote IELTS once and scored an 8 in listening.

Good day everyone , this platform has been really helpful and informative. I started following the thread September but it has given me so much relief over time as to wht could bother me regarding my application. Thank you everyone who share stories and ask questions on a daily and to those who take time to answer the questions. Below is my timeline
ITA— July 8th 2020
AOR— July 25th
ADR ( wife’s family details )— Aug 14th
Med passed — August 13th
Biometrics Request — August 24th
Biometrics completed — sept 14th
1st Ghost update — nov 4th
2nd ghost —- nov 16th
PPR — Nov 18th
VO— AccraVO

God alone be praised

However , I have a little worry. I raised a web form nov 5th about my POF. Informing them the investment I used for my POF has matured and I have rolled over. And I sent the new investment advice. It wasn’t even acknowledged at all. Then PPR came in 18th of nov and I submitted my passport the next day. to my surprise I got a mail as regards the the webform I raised that it was just received and forwarded to the office in charge. So my worry is hope it won’t delay the visa stamping if they have to take time to verify the new POF again. The PoF is legit but I’m just worried about the delay.
Also, I didn’t get a mail from VFS to notify they have sent passport to Ghana. Is this normal ?
Would appreciate clarify as regards the above. Thanks.

Hello house,
Please I need some clarifications and advice on the foregoing.

My husband is the main Applicant in the EE Application. He got his ITA sometime in August and we did our Court wedding about two weeks ago so I can be added as a spouse to the Application. We sent a notification to IRCC informing them of his new maritial status and attached our marriage certificate. We thought we woud get a swift response from IRCC so I proceeding to process my passport using my Madien name as opposed to my husband's surname as that would be faster than the change of name process.

My concerns are that;
Firstly, we are yet to get a response form IRCC till date. Is it necessary to call an agent or send a follow up mail, if yes? How do we go about that?
Secondly, will my maiden name on my new passport be detrimental to our Application?

Thank you for your time, God bless you.

Hi. I am new here. Although I have been following as a guest. A situation whereby you have the funds in naira but you proceed to buy dollars from black market due to fluctuating Naira rates. Would it fly? I don't intend to spend the dollars. If yes, which SOA do I use?.. Thank you

- Never!

I hope this has been informative and helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.[/quote]

That's your brother in law (no direct relationship) so he cannot give you points.

It's your sister (blood relation) that can give you points

False response. This isn't what CICs website says.

Good afternoon in this great house,

Please I need professional advice on my status

My spouse has disparity in his date of birth. WES gave a date he used in the past while his Passport has is real date.
I used the WES like that in my profile to be in the pool.
Afterwards, I created a profile for PNP. I'm praying and hopeful for selection in any of the profiles.

Please my question is what will your advice be as regards my Spouse's age disparity? Is there a way around it

Hello House. Please I need urgent answers as I just received my IELTS results.
I entered the pool earlier this year with my old IELTS but it was obviously too low to get me an ITA so I did the exam again and my scores has improved. Now the problem is this:

I've forgotten the username and password I used to open my profile the first time, although I have access to the email I used to register but I don't know how to update my new IELTS score on the IRCC portal and I heard it risky to have 2 profiles on the EE website.

Someone please advise me on what to do.

Thanks
.
