temi1290:I don't think our squad is over rated. Can we battle it out with footballing giants like brazil, france, belgium and the likes? The answer is a resounding NO!. But in the context of african football we can be considered a power house and i do not see that as overating. Check out our last int'l game roster. Our top striker plys his trade for one of the top side in italy, our back up (onuachu) is the top goal scorer in belgium. We have got full backs playing in porto, fulham, twente and paderbone (this pool is bad if you ask me). We've gat wingers playing for villareal, nantes, cska. We have cb playing for hoffenham, rangers, watford . Comon in the context of african fotie this team is not bad. This team should be able to go toe to toe to against some european teams. THIS TEAM IS NOT OVERATED. with better coaching the pool can achieve something great! |

jihday:yes Only Amount (Rip) was treated extremely Unfairly. To sack a coach twice After Qualifying you for World cup twice and delivering 2 Bronze medal with an OK team is just unpardonable. His country betrayed him and worse of all, he is late meaning decisions cannot be rectified. As for keshi (Rip big boss) failing to qualify us for ordinary Anc should get any Nigerian coached terminated. It is unimaginable |

12large1:Actually, Uzoho made no spectacular saves in that match, only about 2-3 decent saves. If I'm wrong, point out a spectacular save for me so I can remember. |

JohnBullMySon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1nUru_-P54 Rewatch the highlights and get back to me. BTW, even by your logic, 3 decent saves against Brazil can differentiate losing 4-1 to 1-1 check 7.14 (world class) |

12large1:I've watched that before. So keeper should not be making saves again or what? Why is he a professional goalkeeper if he cannot make decent saves? It's just like saying that we should have lost 4-1 if we had no keeper. |

isan:Amnesia!!! Francis uzoho was in remarkable form in his last two int'l games for niaja prior to his injury. He was the no1 of the national team. It will be unfair to him if he Is dropped. MADUKA HAS NOT DONE BETTER THAN UZOHO. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by 12large1: 12:19pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
damagnificentusb:yes, he was even decent at the World cup. No way maduka will just be handed that 1 shirt except uzoho loses form |

damagnificentusb:maduka is also in good form himself. The thing is that players always get dropped suddenly from their spots. It did not start with uzoho. Maduka himself will be dropped if a better in form keeper comes or if uzoho is performimg better at club side. |

Subzero047:I actually think Peter Olayinka of Slavia Prague is a better player. Emmanuel dennis is inconsistent, his decision making is not good and he dribbles to the gallery and he can play badly in 5 games and then be fantastic in 2. In addition he has disciplinary issues and his stats are not immpressivr. Peter Olayinka's decision making and stats are better and he is a hardworker. Rohr should drop him for olayinka. Dennis is overrated |

All those ungrateful people wey dey put this Olodo's resume against Keshi's don see? Despite the long list of White coaches, we have hired over the years, only one of them has achieved as much as Keshi. Very surprising fact. Ofcourse as you would expect Nigerian leaders never learn. |

wayodude:Let me set the record straight. The NPFL does not keep places for national team players. This stopped when Warri wolves ran into trouble with a backup who refused to keep because Akpeyi would just come back and take his place even after numerous clean sheets. Since then no NPFL keeper has left and come back to a spot. Even Emmanuel Daniel our former U23 keeper had to come back from the Olympics to watch Nana Bonsu take Enugu to the league title. The fact is there are so many talented keepers in our league just missing one or 2 things but on their day most of them are top class. That said, Akpeyi is the best keeper we have as of now. |

busky007:So if we want to be the best are we not expected to beat the best??. Ivory Coast were better than us at the 2013 Afcon, didn't we beat them?? And the same Algeria you're talking about are weaker than they were(talent/player wise) when we beat them in 2016. Buh good coaching has made them a way better team than they were then. Just to remind you they came into the AFCON ranked 68, 23 places below us in the FIFA Ranking.Fast forward to over a year they've beaten us twice and are now ranked above us that's what good coaching can do. Their starting 11 that beat us had 3 players playing in the middle east, one in esperance, One at Nottingham Forest and another for relegated Italian side empoli. So on the basis of player quality going to that match we were balanced but we both know what they did to us. You don't need messi and ronaldo to win AFCON. I'll say this anywhere we have a good enough squad to win the AFCON. We beat Ivory Coast with Mba,Oboabona,Relatively unknown Omeruo and Onazi. So all this they're better than us is just a flimsy excuse trying to justify an incompetent coach |
