But that is paltry.

1 trillion naira is just about 2 billion dollars.

I don't see why the govt can't make that available given what they've invested in the sector in the past

Just one trillion?

Triple the amount, one trillion is too small for your non-existent power

Increased personal income taxes from Buhari, Tinubu, Saraki, Kwankwaso, Amaechi, Atiku, Dino, Dangote, Otedola, Oyedepo, Adeboye, El Zakzaky etc should be more than enough for the amount needed.

It's never about funding, it's has been about electricity generation, distribution and transmission models.
First. They should go get blue print from countries in Africa that have gotten it right before quoting the money they intend to embezzle.

No sincerity of purpose in nigeria from time immemorial.

As a former member of an audit team for one of the discos. I can tell you there is no hope for tjat electricity sector. Nbet is owing tcn and gencos, discos are owing cbn and nbet, customers are owing discos, cbn is paying some disco debts and transferring the liabilities to disco books. Discos are using related companies to cash out from the discos. It was sad seeing all this while i was an auditor in Nigeria

i swear i had no idea the things you said but the web of complications alone made me know sef say hope no dey. i think they should just encourage clean private energy generation for households. import on solar free as someone rightly said. this power issue is the biggest demon nigeria has been fighting from time immemorial.

So you're basically asking for another one billion dollars?

If you can give a detailed breakdown of the cost and benefits which is available to the public no doubt some well meaning Nigerians would speak to their representatives or invest personally to ensure you get funding. If not you are simply throwing random numbers around which won't convince anyone.

It's hightime Some Sensible Nigerian Youths took up the mantle to provide other Nigerians with Solar Electricity Distribution.

Without any doubt, Our Issue of Epileptic Power Supply will remain unsolved in this country and will only serve as a means to loot public funds.

We need FIT-TO-LEAD YOUTHS To Consider Solar Electricity Distributions as a means of Growing Wealth for themselves whilst providing Societal Solutions to the Epileptic Power Supply in Nigeria.

Trillions of Naira is to be realised if we (as Sensible and FIT-TO-LEAD YOUTHS) can Strategically Synergize together to achieve this Vision and Mission together.

We do not Need Self Acclaimed Politicians in Nigeria to solve our problems for us. It will never work.

Conversely; We also don't need Random Youths to replace Poor Mindsets in Government Positions.

We Need FIT-TO-LEAD YOUTHS to be Practical Leaders providing Societal Solutions to the Many Ills in Nigeria.

adeboye and oyedepo for what? are they nigeruas problems? mind you in redemption camp while i was still studying there, they were able to generate privately their own power using gas. this meant 247 light. oyedepo is not your elected official. adeboye is not your state governor who has been mandated by the constitution to make your life better. pls dont be unfortunate this early morning

Simple reason why our power sector is in trobule

Power is generated at the cost of 53 naira per kwh

That power is sold at less than 30 naira per kwh

Then at least 40% of the customers dont pay for power

And thus we dont have the cash for a good transmission system

We are part of the problem

Make una de there de talk #1 trillion. Yesterday, the proactive Governor of Edo state project OSSIOMO Power company, is already in the process of 24/7 uninterrupted power. They are connecting most parts of Edo gradually to the OSSIOMO power. People in Sapele Rd who reside around the High Court kept wondering when there was no light interruption. 'are we safe? Nepa nor gree take light' 'wetin de happen' was most of their response..
Edo is moving Forward.... Make una de find trillions..correct Governor
I hope this is true.

Are you so uneducated that you don’t know what increased personal income taxes mean?
You better get some education quickly on that, and stop embarrassing yourself anyhow in public.

Power generation is in thw hands of the privatr sector

Even if you put it in the hands of the state there is still the issue of funding.

When you have power beong sold at a loss plus at least 40% of the people not paying , the atates would have the same issues

We are not ready for industrialisation in this sh*thole at all....if transmission would require that much,

How much would it cost generating the electricity.

Out of that 1 trillion,

500 billion is for bribing the govt officials
200 billion is for settling by the community youth, leaders e.t.c
200 billion is for buying and importing obselete materials, then dumping it on site.
100 billion is the gaib of the contractor.

It costs 53 naira to generate one kwh of power

Until recently we were selling that kwh at 20 to 30 naira.

The power sector was making the difference with loans and grants that still left them with billions of naora in losses

That's why they need one trillion to fix transmission. They dont have the money

Looks like this power issue in Nigeria is irredeemable, especially since we have corrupt leasers....with the money our leaders embezzle yearly..if you put them together, Nigeria will become one of the best countries in africa.

Alternatively... let's reduce or even make free the levy, duty or tax on importation of solar equipments to encourage more importers and reduce cost.
Why cant Nigerians make their solar panel instead of importing.

Most of them are ordinary people.

Yes some big men dont pay, many goveernment parastatals struggle to pay as does APC head office

But most are ordinary people like you and me. (I pay my bills though)

It is the harsh truth no one wants to face.

We have gas reserve along the southern ocean border and what is needed is the decentralization of power business for a start. Will Dangote have built a refinery if govt ran power like oil sector?
Give the states and private hands the needed freedom to be involved.
