PLEASE, I NEED AN URGENT CLARIFICATION. .
Firstly, it's really unfair to write like this. People are quite helpful here, it doesn't have to be all bold wink

Regarding your question, with assumption that the Austrian process may be similar to that of Germany, your nephew will need an insurance for enrollment at least even before it gets to the residence permit stage.
İ suppose insurance differs from country to country, so his best shot may be to visit the school website and read through. Most times, insurance offers are mentioned alongside information about enrollment and all.
Another possibility will be through the institution that renders the blocked account service. Plenty a time, insurance comes incorporated with the blocked account plan so that's another way around it.
A lot of factors goes into choosing an insurance plan so he may want to do some searching, and possibly contact someone in Austria.

İn summary, the details above are hugely anchored on my little knowledge regarding the process for Germany, and i can't guarantee that same applies for Austria.

Thanks for your kind input. Austria doesn't do block account. No insurance company was listed both on the embassy site and the school site. The embassy just made mention of getting an 30,000 Euro worth of Insurance. My question is, how many months of such insurance can he buy? He is going for his Masters school.

Google list of best insurance for foreign students in Austria. Don't worry much about the 30,000 EUR Premium. A decent one should cost between 100-200 EUR or other popular cheap ones around 50 EUR per month.

What do you mean by "Digital Entry Registration printout".

It's a form available online in the Embassy and state sites. It is simply for contact tracing in case of any cases of COVID-19. They also want to know where you left, stopovers, flight, and where you will be in quarantine.

Thanks so much. I have seen AXE health insurance company but I want to know how many months duration can he buy. There are one month to 24 months insurance. Since he is going for 2 years masters program, is he expected to buy upto 24 months health insurance or just some few months.

AXE or AXA?
Insurance contract is a year subject to renewal. He needs just one month payment and when he arrives at Austria, his colleagues can guide him.

Hi Guys,

This wait for AD seems like an endless wait, we have tried messaging the German embassy to no avail.

How about we face the Ambassador of Nigeria to German or the Ministry of Foreign affairs for an intervention?

What do you think about this guy's.. ?

Good afternoon all, just discovered this thread. I have searched through the daad website for related course(s) to my field but I can't find anything similar.

I have a B. A and M.A in English and currently undergoing my Ph.D. in English as well. However, I don't mind having another master's degree in a related field to English, preferably, the same English or Linguistics.

Someone should please assist me on how to go about this search.

Thanks in anticipation

For those that got AD recently. please note that if you're using a blocked account. It's no more 853,- per month / 10.236,- € for one year. It is now
*861,- per month / 10.332,- € for one year.*

For some reason, I don't know how to make my own comment, so I'm quoting this comment. (Pls, bare with me)

I used the DAAD website in a bid to finding a course relating to my field. But then, after using the filter (Bsc & English only) it brought out courses not related to my field. Don't know of there is any other way of searching.

Trying to pursue a career in the medical field (Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharm, Dentistry etc)
I have my 100L transcript as a Biochemistry student. I want to know if it's possible to apply along the line of engineering/computer science, given the lack of courses pertinent to my field on the DAAD website.

Your responses will be duly appreciated. Gracias.

Doubt if you would get that course.
Going to a german country to study English is a waste of time cos they don't joke with their language.
Science related courses like engineering, medicine, nursing and lifescience are in high demand in Germany, and the job prospect is high.
So people should go for courses that would stand them high chances of getting visa.

MrAAA2:
Hi fams.
I arrived Cologne, Germany yesterday morning from Dubai-Bahrain-Frankfurt using Gulf Air. The flight was nice and no time wasting from takeoff in Dubai DXB Terminal 3 to Frankfurt Terminal 1. The Germany border control police did not seemed to care about COVID-19 Negative result neither did the Gulf Air in Dubai.
I have been continuing my lectures in my self-quarantine. Inside is warm with the heater/oven while out there is cold between 4-7 degrees celcius.

For those who will be travelling from the Gulf Region, please use Gulf Air if you don't have much money as their prices to Germany and France are quite cheap about 45% cheaper than Fly Emirates and KLM.
When arriving at the airport, make the following handy:
1. Passport
2. Enrolment certificate
3. Required letter of presence (mine was never asked for)
4. Boarding pass slip
5. For Germany, Digital Entry Registration printout
6. Read about prohibited items in Schengen countries.

Thank you.

@ MrAAA2 ... Congratulations !! Please I have few questions:

1. How did you block your German account from the Gulf (an explanation will help).
2. Did you show any further statement of account ? If required, Naija or other banks? And how much?
3. How long was the Visa process?

Thanks

1. Fintiba.com was seamlessly easy.
2. I did not show any statement of account, only presented a confirmation of 10425 EUR email from Fintiba.
3. From interview date, less than 1 month.
