Stockholm syndrome in full display. Igbos never said they love Yorubas but the reality is that we Igbos are not trouble makers instead we channel our energy into our business. Even Gani Adams recently said that in his 25 years of being the leader of OPC, most other ethnic groups has had clashes with OPC in Lagos except the Igbos. It becomes even more remarkable when we outnumber other ethnicities in Lagos. How many times have the Hausa/Fulani fought you guys in Lagos? Can you count it?

What is the difference between Hausa and Fulani? Lol, look at your mouth "I trust the Hausa..." The joke is on you lots.
If Hausa and Yorubas clashes, it's mainly market fight not brain fight you pretentious People fought us with.
You pretentious ordered and participated in the burning down of Lagos, you always try to separate Muslims from Christians in Yorubaland, EVERYTHING IS ABOUT TO PENETRATE IN OUR AFFAIRS FOR YOUR SELFISH REASON.

You do play the game online but Behold, YOU'LL ALWAYS FAIL.

We know you, you're treacherous and we're always careful dealing with you

Very brilliant and well articulated, they have recruited hungry e worriors from west to defend them online, and blame Igbos, just look at what happened after SARS protest how they manipulated them and they started blaming Igbos, that Igbos want to destroy Lagos, last week I saw picture of Emir of Fulani of Lagos one posted I saw how some Yoruba e-worriors were attacking the guy that created the thread used Eze ndi Igbo as a reference, I shooked my head and laugh, is it that these guys haven't learnt any lesson from Kwara, I love the part "The Fulani has not changed their tactic of instigating strifes and rebellions for the discomfort of their foes, and recruiting allies in the bedroom of the enemy". they will rather blame and hate Igbos than Fulani people that have dealt with them, typical example is #endsare protest in Lagos, the north youths killed and burnt many properties in Fagba community Lagos state, even the Lekki shooting but the cowards were busy attacking Igbos, they see Igbos as threat because of their progressive nature than the north, never in history have Igbos forcefully taken or occupy any tribe's land, what ever they owns outside Igbo land its their wealth they used and acquired them from the natives, take your time and read the article you will understand why I said Yoruba and Igbo can never unite, because of Muslim among them who are welling tools at the hands of Caliphate, Yoruba among themselves can't even unite not to talk of other tribes in South, the Yoruba Christians can easily form alliance with Igbos or others in South but Muslim among them case for another day. This is fact

Rubbish. If you think the Yorubas are afraid to face the Fulanis or Hausa then you do not know us and have no respect for history.

Yorubas understand pragmatic politics more than all others in Nigeria in deferring to the needed electoral strength of the North for now.

Don't be fooled to think the North will cheat the Yorubas without dire consequences for them.
The North cannot hold on to power without seismic consequences for them that will balkanise Nigeria for good after Yoruba gave their all to help them win and retain the Presidency for two terms.

Once SW political leaders and elite key into a concept then no one will bully them out of the way easily as always done with you unprincipled and shallow Igbos that PDP has been disgracing publicly for decades.

Why do you think Fayose, a loyal PDP man, is saying he won't stand for Tinubu to be rubbished while announcing that any attack against Tinubu is an attack against Yorubas?

Why do you think Fashola, a serving Minister, obviously not bothered about a PMB sack, can come out to warn the North to respect agreement made?

We know what Northern Hawks are planning. They are the only one scared of Nigeria changing for the better under a SW President who will usher in an end to the patronage system the North enjoys.

Everyone knows Nigeria is over when the Yorubas say it is so the unsavory elements in the North can try to retain power with different treacherous machinations we Yorubas can already see them putting in place a mile away.

We are not bothered as they will surely be made to understand that Yoruba are not second class to anyone. To understand me, note how Yoruba elites, obas, politicians are meeting without saying nothing to the world. We are not verbose like Igbos. We will confront and plot to win when we have to. Whenever you mention betrayal, I asked myself if the Atiku you also supported because you have Igbo man as his deputy (as we did to Buhari Because of Oshinbajo) is from Alaigbo?
You're senseless.

Meanwhile the blocks of votes given to Atiku Obi in South is far much than that of the whole South East. What's Wrong with you people.

We voted massively (though I didn't) for GEJ in 2011, what we had was disgrace in his tenure. we're not Among the first 9 powerful men in Nigeria, only a f00l will want such to repeat itself.

If you think we betrayed South in 2015, we did and we're not apologetic about it.

Finally, no one is stopping Igbo from contesting but note NOT IN APC platform.
Ask PDP you laboured for to seceed the ticket to you when you're not slave.

We laboured for APC ticket and we're having it

Your understanding is below par. Did Atiku contest against a Southerner? You guys betrayed the South and teamed up with the North to remove GEJ at a time Southern unity would have ensured GEJ won. Those you slavishly supported no longer has any regard for you and Tinubu is no where to be found. If you think Yorubas still control APC then it means you're a novice. Tinubu will be forced to abandon APC once again as we approach 2023 to form another party and he would still lose massively.

With my understanding of politics and how it is played in this country, I can bet 1 million naira that no Yoruba will be president or vice president in 2023.

So you mean to tell me there are no fulani on nairaland? Just yorubas who come online to defend Fulanis and insult fellow Yoruba's? It's just common deduction, these same handles supported Ruga, were against Amotekun, were against #ENDSARS protest and they all happen to support Buhari, no doubt there are always foolish exceptions, every ethnicity in Nigeria has one of those

You don't call your politicians out, Ekeremadu is still as popular as ever, Umahi is the newest kid on the block pointing his fellow igbos as terrorists to the fulani army,

This is a write up by a Yoruba man telling southerners their biggest obstacle is their kinsmen FIRST, before dealing with outsiders,

You and I know what Umahi MUST do before he becomes president and it has to do with the blood of his people,

My grouse with you pretenders is how quick you are to defend these barbarians despite the fact that we see how they decimate villages and burn things to the ground, you have never threatened to do anything to them, Infact you support Ruga!

The president is fulani, most of his appointees are Fulanis, so I am trying to understand why a guy from the SW would be fighting for fulanis

Smart Yoruba's have identified our problems as people who are quick to sell out their people to the north, hiding under the similarities in religion and what not!

First of all, I will never support RUGA, not in this life or the hereafter. I hate it when you just throw out words just because you can on Nairaland.

Bro I understand your grievances and you have a point. You said the Fulanis kill the daughter of our leader and that naturally should get us angered which we all do. But do you even know the North itself is like a killing field? Bandits, Boko Haram, Kidnappers, and even the sultan came out the other day to scream about their insecurities.

Face reality, if we can’t defend ourselves as Yorubas against the terroristic Fulanis on our home soil, we will be stupid to wait for Buhari to help us defend our land especially when he can’t even defend his home state of Katsina.

You call me a pretender lol? If because the conservative side of the Yorubas supported Buhari in 2015 is the crux of your argument, then I can say it’s nonsense. The last time I heard Nigeria is a democracy where everyone has the right to vote for their candidate. Buhari fooled everyone, we saw in him a messiah in 2015 and like every politician known for their promise and fail, he failed us completely and turned out worse.

I would have let your last sentence pass but I hate it when a Yoruba like me is thinking like an Ibo man. Is Osinbajo a Muslim? Is Osoba a Muslim? Is Baba Akande a Muslim? Is Adeboye a Muslim? Is Bakare a Muslim? Is WOLE Soyinka a Muslim? Is Obasanjo a Muslim?

Do you know the above people supported Buhari openly in 2015 and Buhari got votes from both Muslims and Christians in the SW?

Ya’ll need to grow up and stop seeing the Fulanis as superior. Threachery and backstabbing have always been a game of politics which each tribe in Nigeria have used to their advantage and disadvantage. The Fulani succeed in using treachery because the South see themselves as 3 entities, while the North sees itself as one.

Coming online daily screaming Fulani this and that only show We South is an aggregate of alarmist who can’t hold our leaders accountable but falling for the trick of Fulani caused this and that to loot us dry and underperform.

While I won't dismiss other Nigerians, the reality that must be stated without spin is that most Yorubas are beginning to see we are the heart of Nigeria that gives far more into the Nigerian project that we get out.

At least 60% of what is good and laudable about Nigeria, at home and in the diaspora, is related to the SW and Yoribas. We don't do empty boast my friend because Yorubas are not braggart by nature.

We are not usurpers or unprincipled charlatans like Igbos happy to reap where we ha e not sown. Yet we know what is due to us by virtue of what we worked and sacrificed for.

The North should try and cheat us of what is due to us and we will all see the outcome once Yoruba political, religious and cultural leaders, plus elites, are on the same page in resisting unprincipled and ungetlemanly behaviour of those who are not honorable and do not believe in paying their debt to others.

Whatever 'powers' fulani have are mostly always handed to them by conniving Southerners,

Who the hell is waiting for Buhari to protect him?

Can you tell me how Fulani can become president without the support of a southerner and how a southerner can be president without the support of a Fulani?

Who handed Obasanjo power? Is it not the Fulanis?

Who handed Buhari power, is it not the Yorubas?

Now both have handed each other power one time or another.

Then why do we always make it a duty to call the southerners that hand Fulani power backstabbers, betrayers, cowards and turn back to call those fulanis that handed southerner power are called kingmakers, superior, strategists and etc?

Can you tell me how a southerner can rule without the input of at least one part of the North and vice versa.

Moreso since 1999, southerners have ruled more than the North in a democracy. So what’s with all these things we say about Fulani domination. Why are the Southern president stupid to pursue southern interest like Buhari is doing for the North?

Will you rather blame the North for Jonathan pleasing them at the detriment of the south? Is it the North people fault that the Southern presidents always want to be more Jesus than the pope by pursuing equity in a crazy country like Nigeria where people don’t follow rules?

Call it what you will. Even the dullest Yoruba is now starting to see we are Nigeria unlike you braggart and empty chest-beating Igbos.

From bottom up, I don't think the north wants to cheat you. Your choice of candidate is what they are not comfortable about. Queue behind Fayemi and everything would be ok. Nobody is going to rob you of your hard earned opportunity. But politics always is give and take.

I don't give a damn about the emotional outburst of a wailing adult, you can regurgitate and regurgitate again and again, I don't give a damn!

That guy is a douchebag. A joke of a Yoruba man. An Odumakin type and an unintelligent ignoramus. Don't respond to him next time. They are the sort always against Tinubu and touting new age upstart like Fayemi who could not even defend his Ekiti guber seat, against Fayose, as incumbent under a weak Jonathan FG.

Whereas Tinubu remained the only opposition South West Governor, in charge of Lagos the PDP coveted more than anything in the world, all through the Presidency of the 'gangster' President OBJ. The guy is an annoying waste of space abeg if indeed he is Yoruba.

Normally I wouldn’t respond to his claim coz it will be absurd for me to start saying I want to prove my Yorubaness to someone on Nairaland.

However I’ve noticed him for long on this forum and it seems he is taking his vengeance on Yorubas like him all because of the Oduduwa republic and some disdain for Yoruba leaders like Tinubu like you mentioned.

One thing I hate about these guys is that they don’t know they are actually the Yorubas that the author is talking about.

We have someone like Tinubu who have learnt to play the game of the Fulanis with them by dealing with them like politicians do but these Yoruba liberal will be here antagonizing Tinubu and shouting some lightweight that can’t even win a ward like Akinwumi Adesina and Sowore as their Yoruba messiah .

Then the next election when the Fulani win again they start shouting and crying on Fulani necks like weaklings.

Fulani will bring an Atiku/Buhari, strong politicians that are not necessary the best the North could offer because they know politics don’t always favor the best in a country BUT the educated illiterate southerners will want a Kingsley Moghalu or Youthful Falz that can’t even win their ward as presidential candidate in a multi-ethnic wayward country like Nigeria.

In as much as the South continue to parade all these feeble minded folks, we will always complain about Northern domination till Jesus comes.

Dude read the write up again
The OP eloquently expressed his points,
By the time the remaining Yoruba's are rooted out maybe you would understand better,
The Fulanis problem is always the southerners, but some southerners still root for them
Their new problem is fashola, wait and see how Buhari would agree

Lol you Igbos are jokers who don't understand the Yorubas are smarter than you and will always be.

We should vest all our many years of sacrifice, sweat and blood on Fayemi who Fayose despatched despite haven been impeached and disgraced out of office years before contesting again?

We know the ploy of you Igbos. Yorubas should filed their weakest hand in the form of the uncharismatic, dull and despised Fayemi who is resented at grassroots level and is practically unelectable.

Many leaders in his own SW will never come out to work for Fayemi let alone those in the North or other regions as would be guaranteed for Tinubu or Osinbajo.

Just confess you want the Yorubas to field the candidate surest to be easy to defeat and stop patronizing our intelligence. Fayemi ko Gani Adam's ni. God forbid any bonafide Yoruba leader join to push Fayemi dead on arrival candidacy

The people the OP is talking about is people like you.

Yes people like you are the one that favors the remaining strong Yoruba in this government to be rooted out all because you think they are Fulani appendages.

People like you are the one that sees Tinubu labor this far in APC but will at the blink of an eye throw him away while citing he is corrupt and this and that.

Then when the Fulani tomorrow succeed in ridiculing him you will all turn back again to scream about Fulani superiority.

People like you are those that will Vote Atiku/Kwakwanso/Tambuwal in 2023 if he contests against Tinubu citing some payback or corruption bla bla bla.

That’s what I can deduce from the OP statement in the context of politics.

Indeed. They are the emtional, unrealistic and oversabi Yorubas, if he is even Yoruba, that would not see the big picture decades ago and sold Awolowo and the Yoruba cause out, as OP is inferring, to the detriment of us all.

No Yoruba candidate can be President in 2023 other than Tinubu or any Yoruba Tinubu supports with all his might, political machinery and war chest as he did for Buhari.

If Yorubas are undone in 2023 it will mainly be the fault of weak links and myopic tools like that StaffofOrayan.
