I paid for the return of my passport since the 23rd of November. No feedback since then. I tried to reach them using the number on their website but couldn't. I was finally able to reach them just now using the number you provided. They confirmed that they've gotten my email and details and said that they will forward it for processing and I should expect the passport on Friday

(it has been 9 days since I paid for them to return it)

Yes, you are meant to submit that. Using the ticket number & Passcode IRCC would log on at their end and view the full statement. That's basically how the MyBankStatement process works. It cuts out the delay involved in manually reaching out to your bank to verify the bank statement document you would have sent normally.

I just got my NSE request for only my IELTS result to be submitted within 13 days.

My challenge is : I wrote ielts few months ago and I made 7:0 in all except reading which I made 5:5. Overall band score is 7.0

I don’t know if this result can fly because I don’t think I am ready to write ielts again after two sittings.

Please advise me accordingly �

They said almost the same thing to me. They said they've forwarded it for processing. I had to also mail their headquarters and sent a DM to their Twitter handle. I have utilized all means to reach out. I've sent emails to all VFS associated mailboxes already. I intend to call them again soon so that they'll know it's serious. Normally, one could just walk in and get their passport once its ready but they said they'll mail it. I assumed that they had an efficient mailing system that would be done promptly.

Once I'm done with this VFS, I will drink one full bottle of olive oil to thank Jesus. Abasi!

I largely doubt those of us who got counterfoil and LOI yesterday can get back our passports early next week. What do you guys think?

I think you have to use the school's accomodation. That is what I was told anyway. I have filled the form already.

Hello I hope it's not Lagos VFS, If it is, you might need to exercise a little more patience. I hope your timeline will not take as long as mine (today makes it day 27 for me). And as for trying their number, I will advise you to keep trying till you get them. also, send mails to lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca imploring them to expedite action.

A private company meant to efficiently handle passports is now the cause of mental torture because they can't get things right. How hard is it to efficiently dispatch passports via private courier on a daily basis? They can't even be reached and they hardly reply emails. For my passport again o! Something I paid them for. I just hope they don't force me to take this fight to social media.

I got LOI last week, with their present pace we can only remain hopeful.

See my responses below;


1. The requirement for the NSE program is that you must have 30KCAD which is equivalent to 9.1M in Naira. You have to show evidence of this money by providing a MyBank Statement with ticket ID and password from a commercial bank in Nigeria as well as a one year bank history.

2. The Mybank Statement can be generated from either in your Sponsor's name or applicant's name.


3. There are no penalties for non-compliance. Failure to submit the required documents for the NSE program, your application will continue to be processed in the regular processing manner.


4. You need to provide an updated POF, which will be dated recently.

I am really trying to calm down but I stand to part with money that I don't have if I reschedule my flight. There are also other factors I'm considering and I really need them to act fast. These things shouldn't be difficult. In the VFS of other countries, people get their passports back efficiently and on time. My passport shouldn't stay in their office beyond a day, as long as I have paid for return courier.

You should choose "Send to embassy", typically, it should even show "Canadian Embassy" as an option. While either way works, I will advice you do it on your laptop instead of your phone app, because at the end you will need to download the ticket document, downloading and finding files say on an iPhone can be difficult.

Hmmm, this is tricky. Parents are in Nigeria with properties and applicant has a job in Nigeria. These are the only tangible home ties atm. Applicant’s siblings are not in Nigeria. One is a U.S citizen, the other is Canadian. Applicant is not married.
What else can one use as a strong family tie to Nigeria?
