Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former governor of Anambra on Thursday in Abuja said that zoning 2023 presidency to the Igbo people will lift Nigeria.

Ezeife said this at a public presentation of two books titled “Good Governance – Instrument for Transformation of a Nation” and “On the Sands of Time’’ written by Dr. Joel Oruche, a veteran journalist and Deputy-Director, Federal Ministry of Information.

According to him, it is only the Igbo people who do not understand that God in heaven has already approved the Igbo presidency 2023.

He added that the Igbo president had been endorsed by other religions and regions adding that he was in a good position to say so because he had contact with the stakeholders.

“We thank the Northerners, Westerners, South-South people, and the Middle belt, especially those who have understood our quest for justice.

“Apart from our quest to lift Nigeria, the Igbo president will also cause explosive developmental discoveries in Nigeria.

“So, others should be begging us to come and be president, not this misunderstanding they are having in Nigeria.’’

Ezeife said that it would be alright if the governor of Ebonyi, Mr. David Umahi, eventually gets the presidency ticket adding that there were also other Igbo people from the same zone qualified for the presidency.

He decried the issue of people jumping from party to party saying it was not the best.

OUK may be a better choice in terms of northern acceptability to me. Even Rochas seems more popular than him.

2023 APC ticket is for South West.. We Northerners will return the favour.. Professor Osinbajo is the ONE..

2023 PDP ticket should go to South East, in all fairness.. But then, what is fair in PDP? undecided

.. The only party where loyalty is rewarded with treachery.. grin

But wetin concern me with husband and wife matter sef? grin

If the president’s tribe matters, which it should not, I think it would clearly be the turn of an Igbo or other south-eastern person to hold the position in 2023. The north would have held power for 11 years, and the south west for 8 years. If we group GEJ with the South East, it would still be their turn since he ruled for only 5 years.

If we can get a very good Igbo president in 2023, their yearning for separation will gradually fade away. Hopefully the Igbo president will not make the same mistakes that Zik, Nzeogwu and Ironsi made in the early days. Mistakes that set the country on a dark path.

PDP should be kind enough to zone the presidency to the S/East, they deserve it more than any other geopolitical zones in the country. But for APC....S/West will get it 100 percent.

I think they should keep their presidency.

The current government has damaged the country so much that whomever takes over is already positioned to fail.

Igbos should borrow sense and let those that destroyed the country to fix it. If not before you know it they will blame Igbo presidency for everything that ever went wrong in Nigeria.
