Well in this case ordinary travellers like me have always known about arik’s poor financial health but the management did everything to keep these employees on unpaid leave pending when things got better. Same employees continuously went to arik’s various outlets to disrupt operations and prevent customers from travelling.

In my opinion Nigerian aviation unions are one of the worst set of employees out there . Currently they are also holding the aviation minister to ransom for trying to concession some terminal buildings to offer better services to passengers. They prefer the current system where Nigeria’s airports are one of the worst in west Africa .

In 2003 knowing the kind of people that constituted the unions, Obasanjo forcefully used the police to shut down Nigerian airways and end the employment of everyone . It was anti-democratic but that was the only way he could stop the revenue leakage there.

What is happening to this great country sef.... Bad leader and demons in government house, they are sack workers and we have some youth without job at home but if this 300 come join the once at home what will be the outcome of the nation......i rest my case

I'm sure most of their Flight Attendants would also be sacked. Especially those ones that would be doing as if the whole world revolves round them.

I remember when I attended an Aviation Career specifically for Flight Attendants cos I heard several Airlines were coming to recruit nice looking boys and girls into their Airline.
They said we must come with our pictures and CV.

Na so I arrange myself, dressed well, carried my picture and CV and went to the venue at MMA2. I entered, everybody looked like they came for Mr and Miss Nigeria Pageant. ....hmmm.

We sat down. Different men and women came and were talking. The talk no even enter my head.

That was how one woman came and started her own talk. She said when she was a flight attendant, she had a vision of how a particular Aeroplane had a chronic plane crash and nobody survived even the flight attendants.

A week later, she was to be on duty on a flight but she got held down somewhere so she couldnt join them. Before she got to there, the plane had taken off.

After 2 hours, a friend called her to tell her that the plane she was to be on had just crashed with no survival. The airline was in chaos that day.

She said she became cold. She wasn't herself for weeks. She was like God was speaking to her through the vision and purposely held her down if not, she would have been dead.

After some days, she tendered her resignation letter. After some years, that particular airline (name withheld) shutdown till date.

After the story, all of us became cold. The hall was silent. Nobody could speak again. We were just staring at her.

When she saw the look on our faces, She then opened her mouth to say...

"HOW MANY OF YOU STILL WANT TO BE A FLIGHT ATTENDANT?"
