“We’ve been using trains acquired under the Jonathan administration for about four years now and they are still fully operational, but we really can’t tell much about the new locomotives acquired by the present administration,” an official at the Abuja rail terminal told the Gazette under anonymity to volunteer internal information without authorisation. Hope you guys read the above in that post 3 Likes |

Imustreturn:the chinese said "the locomotives were test run and certified in china before being sent to Nigeria" the Nigeria counterpart said "we don't know much about the locomotives" "we would make a deal extending the warranty for the Chinese companies to provide maintenance and repair".... i've been saying that we are too backward for Chinese intelligence,if they want to they gonna play us like ping pong... i was reading a Washington article on why the US africa military command missions should not be abolished by the US government,it was all about not letting china or russia take presence in africa,it wasn't because they wanted to stop militancy, they talked as if we are toys and totally in their control, this are the powers that be.. nigeria is a pencil in the hands of this powers |

SocialJustice:never underestimate Chinese cunning nature,we know chinko products to lack durability because they keep playing us,sending substandard techs to us so the demand will keep flowing for business...Chinese techs are bold, wonderful and advanced,go to European nations and see unadulterated asian gadgets making waves, they exploit us because we lack the independent scientific capability to check for the chemistry standard of things we import... ameachi paid for something, even if he did it corruptly the Chinese would still exploit him in that corrupt deal they made with him |

Newphil: Bros This is not Climate matter at all, to be honest I dont think so. It is Purely politics and Corruption by the leaders, looters, Contractors, Partners and every person concerned that will be a Beneficiary. The Chinese are Very Good, you can employ them for problem solving to even modify thier products to something they've never done before, and it will work. Apple CEO I'm Cook, commented on this. Building Rail lines, trains and Locomotives is unlikely to be a Challenge for them at all. |

Ogaonos: Nigeria can easily afford new trains/coaches. Very easy to do that if you know how to negotiate with the Chinese and beat down the prices. The problem is with the over inflation of contracts and the fact that those who negotiate contracts of this Sophisticated nature are mostly folks not versed in the field.. Again, we should be buying the technology. It will be helpful in the long run. I was looking at the conñtract sum for both the Kano - Niger republic tracks and the mentioned sum for the east to north rail. The combined sum is almost the sum the Chinese paid the Germans for the bullet train technology. Just as the endless increases in the contractual sum for the second Niger bridge is chasing the total amount the Chinese used to biuld one of the longest bridges in the world! 1 Like |
