A House of Representatives candidate for Jada, Ganye, Mayo Belwa, Toungo constituency of Adamawa State, Taslim Ahmed Iya has said he joined in the race as a result of his desire to contribute towards improving the living standard of his constituents and Nigerians at large.

He expressed dissatisfaction that despite huge resources the nation is blessed with, hunger, poverty, disease and deprivation still stares at the face of the people.

Presenting his manifesto recently to his constituents amidst cheers and excitement, Mr. Iya said he was tired of seeing political office holders enriching themselves to the detriment of the people they should be serving.

According to him, electing good people into various political offices will be a great step towards achieving a new Nigeria.

He said his group, the Nigeria Action Association offers a new hope, urging all Nigerians to join and become members.

He said, "I decided to do this because I am sick and tired of watching all our leaders come into office, take all our money and do nothing. They have compromised our security, our economy, our ability to feed, clothe, and house ourselves, in other words our livelihood.

"Now it seems they would compromise our lives as well. We can’t keep electing the same group of leaders with different party names and expect things to change. A great man once said doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

"I am afraid if I do not stand up and call upon others to stand up and take action, there will be no Nigeria left".

He stated that the aims of his association include, ensuring the freedom, security, and well-being of Nigerians through active representation, to encourage a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, secular country where people of diverse backgrounds and beliefs live harmoniously together as true Nigerians and building a strong and prosperous economy that allows for the provision of jobs and a good business and economic environment for all Nigerians

On Security, he said a significant increase in wages for the police and military by an initial 50%, along with improved welfare programs to focus on housing among other, as well as raising the police force from around 250,000 to 500,000 to be trained through the association's new programs will enhance security in the country.

"On the Economy, We will quickly build up our industries such as agriculture, power, oil & gas, mining, and the assembly of our own cars (Toyota, Hyundai and other manufacturers), bikes, and tricycles instead of importing them.

"For example, our imports of cars alone amount to about $6 billion or 12% of our total imports, making it the third highest Nigerian import. We will achieve this through state intervention and investment which will create millions of jobs while reducing the cost of the products we produce (see pages 3 - 9 of our restructuring plan for more details)" he said.

Another head slamming thief has appeared again with the usual political and rhetorical talks. Give him 8 years, he won't even better the life of anyone in his constituency, talk more of the entire country.
