Hi jpepper, I'll be also going to UBC let's connect

jpepper:
Hello people,

@justmellow
@frankbonn
@lekkiboboe
For those that have made travel plans, Is it true that IRCC now requires that we show proof of funds at the point of entry? Please see the information in the screenshot below from UBC, looks like we have to provide the banks statement that we used to apply and a new one, how true is this?
I also saw similar information on IRCC(second snapshot) but IRCC just says “you must show proof of funds” they did not request for 30days statement or any specifics. My question is : will it be sufficient to show them the same bank stmt that i submitted when i applied?

But the Detty December shaaa, make 2021 no go Dirty for real oh @apply again in January. Lol

Hello Guys,

1) Please what are the recent timelnes for study permit applications. I'm thinking of advising an applicant to defer to May 21 from Jan 21 as I don't feel a decision will be reached if application is submitted today.

2) Also, I heard someone mentioned about an affidavit of return. Is this necessary?

3) initial application was denied based on insufficient ties and financial assets as stated in gcms notes. Any ideas what should be included in new application?

Thank you.

As the usual saying goes "it shall end in praise"

I would advice he or she does their
medical now and submit . ICRCC have been very slow with application process so it will be wise to be proactive but if he doesn't and by end of this month no response then he should defer to may. No need to ask for refund since he plans on going there.
ok thanks so much

The declaration form is quite explicit. A lawyer knows or will know where to sign...you can take it to a court, the guys there will assist you.

15 weeks, someone posted a pic showing it has changed to 31 weeks, there is still the NSE program that takes 20 days processing time.

Affidavit of return makes your application stronger but it isn't compulsory

You have to list the documents you submitted for the initial refusal and your profile, so you can be assisted with what to include this time

Hello 1oak,

Don't defer but change your program to a PGD/C or a Post Baccalaureate program. Then request for your GCMS Notes. BTW, you don't need to re-do medicals.

All the best

Hello guys,

Pls any ideas how this application can be re-submit red based on gcms notes?

Good day All,
I got a mail informing me that I qualify for the Nigerian Student Express for the Canadian Study visa, I and my Supervisor are really hoping for this. Only problem is I have exactly 19 days to submit IELTS and I have registered for the Academic exam. There are no available computer based test so I have to write the paper based and the result may not be released on time. Can I use my IELTS General training result from a year ago or it must be Academic IELTS?

Use your General (IELTS )

It’s still valid for 2 years

IRCC didn’t specify which IELTS. So you are good to go

Thanks,

I am talking about pdf file for online application. I know signing and affixing notary stamp may be simple with a paper application but how can a stamp be affix on a PDF form? Does it mean one will have to print it out for stamping and then scan it for the online application?

There is custodian form online.
Download and fill. Do note the followings;
1. The person who accepts to carter for your child who appears to be minor would have his/her information filled too and notarized in Canada.
2. The parents of the child do fill and notarized accordingly.
All done by a Notary

please I need advice oo. I'm writing cbt on 12th
It was nerve wracking THB since I only prepared for four days LMFAO(NSE letter came Nov 30th and I registered that day) and I was not sure what to expect. I registered with my international passport and they took my fingerprints then snapped my picture. I was then directed to a room to do my speaking. When I got in there, the lady asked for my candidate number and I mixed it up lolllll she then asked my name, then told me the number and laughed (the lady is the person interviewing me).
There were a lot of questions. Favorite room of the house, favorite transportation, if I meet people regularly etc. Then I finished and went back to the waiting room, signed out for speaking. We were then directed to another room for listening, reading and writing. Listening and reading were easy (I took the academic). Please go to the British council page and take the practice test. It's exactly in that form. Writing task one and two were also easy(although I almost made a mistake there but I figured it out when I had 25 minutes left). There's a word counter there so you'll know when to stop (please don't write below the word limit). For task one, I wrote about 180 words and task two 290 words.
Also for the listening test, it's not as you hear it, that the answer would come in. They paraphrase a lot of answers, so you'll have to think about it. You can increase the volume and the text size to your preference. There's a comfortable headset for listening. This also applies to reading (the paraphrasing of answers). I spent about 5 hours there.
Please go with a brown envelope (the big one) you'll have to put your things inside and seal it. Also for the listening and reading (computer based) I advise you to turn on Caps lock. Because no one cares if all your answer is in capital letters but will care if you use all small letters for nouns or an omitted upper case. For example, if the answer is "John Mou" and you write "john mou" or "John mou" your answer is marked wrong because the first letter of a name is meant to be upper case. But if you write "JOHN MOU" your answer is correct. But for writing, please turn it off because they're checking your spellings and grammar.
Results would be sent to my address in 7 days it feels like 10 years already

Is your supervisor funding you? If that's the main source of your funding, you might not be eligible for NSE. You are to show enough money for your tuition and upkeep in your 1 year mybankstatement
