Looks too small to be a puff adder. Its more likely a Gaboon Viper. Na them be the "Big Boyz" in the viper family in this part of the world.

puff adders are smaller than gaboon vipers,that snake is a living breathing anti personnel landmine,you cannot step on one and remain the same,even if you survive your feet will be disfigured
