Lighting Upgrade

Swapped out all the halogen bulbs and replaced with high quality LED alternatives. daytime running lights, fog lights, brake light, turn signal, reverse lights, cabin lights , door lights, HID xenon headlight bulbs everything, even the number plate illumination.

brands : Hikari, JDM Astar, Philips. etc

Probably because ELS is set up for higher frequencies. More treble for classical music and the likes instead of better lows.

For what it's meant to do, it's one of the best car stereos.

My friend uses exactly same car,and the stock sound system is superb, it blasts.

Well choices differ,upgrades isnt bad,but na to make sure the upgrade is better than the stock.

Backup Camera

Installed an Aftermarket HD Backup Camera alongside the Stock setup.

Camera is from BrandMotion and has a Monumentally better resolution than the stock.

I Initially supplied the camera 12V accessory power so it could be turned on even when car isn't in reverse ( the kenwood has a cam function ). but after reading about the drawbacks of having the camera on at all times, I disconnected the accessory supply and let it work only via reverse trigger.

Tapping neatly into the reverse light. routing cables to this point was hell.

Tint percentage : 20%

film type : Nanocarbon film from tint zoom.

reason for brand of choice . . .provides the highest TSER (Total solar energy rejection) compared to any other film on the market. including the popluar Llumar brand( aa seen in chart) . very important property in tint films if you care about hot interiors.

The stock head unit definetly looks better,you could have used it,it has quality wattage and will still produce quality sounds to feed your speakers.

I totally agree with you. I wasn't really impressed with the new look, but I appreciate his efforts to make the change.

I'm currently mid install of an aftermarket stereo head unit (Boss) on my 2008 MDX, and having a little difficulty. Our hases on crutchfield, along with the harness and Axxess ASWC-1 steering wheel control unit. Do you remember, or have photos of how you wired your harnesses into the factory wiring? I've done something incorrectly somewhere and not getting power to the new unit.
