ASUU STRIKE; Update On The Payment Of Withheld Salaries. by Nobody: 2:37pm On Dec 08, 2020
ASUU insists they're paid withheld salaries before they take any action at hand according to reports. And gave the FG time frame till 9am tomorrow 09/12/20 for the payment of their withheld salaries.

anyone with updates from their aunty and uncle lecturers if they're seeing their alerts as at today?

Someone told me the payment will be by tomorrow, and on Thursday an emergency meeting will be convene by ASUU, where the strike will be officially suspended.

But until I see it happened, I remain 'a doubting Thomas'.

it is very dangerous for ASUU to trust this FG!
If ASUU suspend strike without getting their witheld salaries then ASUU is on OYO, as it will be extremely difficult to embark on strike again if FG refused to pay.

ASUU: pay us before we resume

FG: Resume before we pay

When lack of trust meet ego

With Ngige in charge & the vegetable in Aso villa still running the country, students should be looking forward to 2023 for resumption.

That someone is telling you illogical lies sir. How can this APC government pay eight months salary between today and tomorrow? When it's not for buying votes. Buhari is only trying to dribble ASUU.

Well, I read the news. He said four because he didn't count June and November with it. And now we are gradually going to the middle of December.

That is another distorted truth from APC govt.
Majority have not being paid from July till date while some have not being paid since February (small number of them though).

ASUU should make up their mind, there's no way they will get paid fully from February to November for now.

Exactly
Or when ASUU is ready.
According to Ngige
ASUU has been exempted from IPPIS
The 70B has been processed
The negotiation committee has been reconstituted.
The Gazetting process has been initiated too.
What's now left is the issue of salary arrears and there's the issue of the section 43 of the Trade act dispute to contend with here.
So ASUU should make up their mind, whether to suspend the strike, carry on for five years or resign totally. It's all up to them.
The Minister even claimed they were invited to a virtual conciliatory meeting, but they turned it down.
The last i heard from ASUU, they claimed they were still consulting with members. I know this is usually a long procedure for them, perhaps theg will be done after three weeks, afterall they have to reach out to their members in Saturn and Uranus, this takes time.

Haha, ASUU saying they are still consulting is just a delay tactics to buy time and see if FG will pay them their outstanding salary before noon today, but ASUU is not serious, thesame Ngige made it possible for their salaries to be paid from March to June, why won't thesame ASUU trust him to pay the remaining four months salary.

Like you said, ASUU rather call off the strike between today and friday or strike for the next five years.

For the first time, the students won't be the only one to lose something in this strike.
