Hello I have a friend who is a Crane Operator and his plan is to migrate to Australia and work as a Crane Operator. Can someone with this skill qualify to apply for the resident/work permit? If yes please what are the requirements. Also which of the immigration program can he fit in? Thanks.
The link below is the thread for your enquiry.

However, crane operator is not a relevant skill for now as it is not available on the occupation lists.
See image below for visa options for crane operator

There is no admin occupation on the occupation list.
Having a skill in bricklaying is not enough to get a positive assessment with TRA. You also need a qualification in Bricklaying.

Thank you everyone who has been contributing to this thread.

Please help guide me on which path is most suitable for me.
I have read the first few pages and the last three but the visa classes are confusing me plus I read some of them have been replaced with another class.

Here are my details:

B.sc Accounting (First Class) 2013
Chartered Accountant- ICAN 2018
MmBA from Tekedia institute USA 2020
External Audit Associate 2015-2018
Accountant 2018-2020

Husband

B.sc Sociology
LLB 2021 (In view)
No professional work experience

I wouldn't mind going through the study route or the skilled workers route.

Kindly assist me with advise or point me to where I can read up.
Thank you.

Accounting is difficult to get. They are yet to call people for 189 PR since 2016., only NT is available for 190 state But they issue offshore applicants 491 only. The number of people waiting is something else. Don't even try it going to study accounting because you will waste your time and money.

Your husband course is good but unfortunately he has no work experience

I will advise if you are considering study, think of going into health profession like nursing, social work etc

Unless you want to go for your PhD, fine but make sure you secure full scholarship with stipend
Anything Accounting is a no-go area in Australia. They deceive people and chop your money. Also try Canada, you have higher chances there

Hi everyone.
I would like to share my experience on this Aussie parole.
September 2017 I got my visa 489,my hubby move to Australia in October same year while I was still in Nigeria cos I need to resigned (work with LSG).I joined my hubby in December same year.Jan 5th we moved to a regional area in qld.Getting accommodation was hard cos we don't have Rental history, we therefore lived in a shared accommodation with a Fijian woman.God used this woman to make things easier for us in term of settling in.Hubby got a job at the factory. I applied for different roles but wasn't lucky to even get an interview. I enrolled for certificate 3 in individual support and I got Government funding,so I only paid $65 for the course.Hubby encourage to concentrate and finish the course and also look aftet the kid while he worked and foot all the bill.i finished the course with 6month.(wanted to finish as early as 2montg but the RTO wouldn't allow me of qld directive that the course should be done around 6 to 12month).I got a job where I did my placement and life was good.
January 2020 we lodged our 887(PR).God added to my family 3months after we lodge 887,so I was able to enjoyed all the care given to a citizen at hospital . NO DIME PAID. We notified CO of our additional baby, baby got 489 and Bridging visa immediately. Six month after lodging 887,got CO to rescan hubby passport. September we got our grant..
I just want to encourage anyone there, that do whatever it takes you to be here.Let me quickly add that I didn't get job in my occupation (Public health) and I couldn't do any further study cos of the cost. Finally, if its 491 worst case scenario student visa you could get, grab with Joy.If you are not lazy and you know how to save .You will be alright
hello tee, please how did you apply, can you please give full details of how you did your processing.
I've calculated my points on the website and it's 80. I don't know what to do next. I'd appreciate if you can help. Thanks

Forget that salary that you think is big. Leave Nigeria while you can. This move will favour you and your family.
