Thanks Oga Mi. A lot of my crazy ideas that were formed while I was still in the USA are now placed on back burners. First, because I don't want to play with other peoples money, just mine. And secondly, the real not online Nigerian landscape. How you guys manage to get anything done is a wonder.

Imagine giving a business plan to someone when cement was N2,500 and it's now N4K.

We need price control in this country.

Exactly...we may need price control else things may spiral out of hand..It seems people just wake up and Jack up prices...to be honest, I still dont get the readon for this last set of price increase

but these prices will be adjusted for the next round to take into account the new cost of materials..we re seeing more than 50% price increase in building materials (more for some items e.g. pop cement) and this will invariably lead to price increase even in subsidised housing. We re nt seeing an equivalent increase in salary or earning power of Nigerians...

In 2007 - 2009, during Gov Gbenga Daniel’s era, expandable units on a plot of land at Workers Estate Laderin was sold 999,000k but some people doubted it and didn’t buy.

I’d ask anyone who’s familiar with Abeokuta to find out how much land is sold around that Estate today.

Buy Now!

We don't need price control. It will be used selectively and vindictively.

What we need is a knowledgeable CBN governor. Like President Clinton said: it is the exchange rate regime - stvpid.

The poor management of the Naira rate to the Dollar is what is fueling price inflation. Not profiteering.

I’ll be getting rid of it too in the future. Building #5 sits on the highest part of the estate. Part of its construction will be an underground tank and the water pumped out using solar.

I’m still reading up on the technology. We shall see.

Nice one. Was the post joined to achieve the height or that's the length of the galvanized pipe?

No joining, just regular lengths.

The size of the tubing is 3” and thick material. That also matters. Greatly.

I don’t want to sound negative but if you can stock cement at 3,000 or 3,100 now. It’s best to do so as unconfirmed source have it that the current situation is unlikely to end soon.

Projection is looking at the end of February before everything normalize.

_____
I also want to encourage people to start looking into precast elements and pre-mixed concrete.
If I have funds, that’s a business I’ll be doing right now grin

A bag of cement in some parts of Rivers State is now #5,000. I have put my plastering on hold after purchasing gum sand this morning. We'll definitely wait this one out.
