This thread has been been helpful and blessed with many selfless and generous individuals.

My study permit was approved today after 11 months. It has not been easy managing that. Thanks to God and also appreciate the effort of Dr @samtol for his swift intervention at the school. much grateful sir.

The Visa was issued the very day my school confirmed my admission. In essence, if you are having issue with visa try sort things out at your schools.

Embassy doesn't deliberately delay pass 6 to 8 weeks. If it is beyond then you can reach out to school.

The recent emails of staff at the embassy is attached if in case you need the emails.
Glory be to God sir

For those who want to use hotel reservations for visa application purposes, Please try and pay 1-2 days if you are booking for weeks or days. For the past few days many applicants were denied visa due to hotel reservation without payment. Although some were lucky to scale through without payment for the hotel, To be on a safer side pay 1 or 2 days

Someone giving you his/her visa form won't solve your problem if you yourself don't know your first name grin
Your first name is your first name! The first written name.
I guess the problem most students have is that they often write their surnames as their first names!
No, your surname is your last name.

So to help you, your surname is the same as your last name except you make some clarifications.
For instance, if you write your name as, 'Peace Kingmaker Nairalander'
This is the proper/correct way of writing names.

Here, first name is: Peace,
Middle name: Kingmaker
Last name or surname: Nairalander.

However, if you wish to write it differently, then you must indicate your surname by writing it in capital or by underlining it.
So the above name could also be written as:
NAIRALANDER Peace Kingmaker (Note, it is not NAIRALANDER Kingmaker Peace!)
or
Nairalander Peace Kingmaker (Note, I actually wanted to underline Nairalander but I didn't see the icon for it, so I had to use bold)
Kingmaker, though coming last, is still your middle name because the proper position of the last name/surname had been changed.

The authority is on the data page of the passport. It is usually the name of the state capital where the passport was issued.
I guess your passport is genuine?

You should just hire me then at a fees cool
But seriously, the information is there on their site.
For visitor visa/short term stay, check: https://liftassets.vfsglobal.com/nga/en/zaf/-/media/project/vfs_uk/shared/pdf/sa-nga/short-term-visa-application-form.pdf?la=en&hash=FD044F17434C357198E5C231C2A0A5725A609E45.

Go to any responsible state/teaching hospital for your yellow fever or you get it from from those guys outside VFS office.
Bank account depends on how long you are staying but you should target a minimum of R8,500 per month
People have already written on flight /hotel booking.

I guess you are a student?
Then you need to read or search previous posts.

I got my yellow fever card in 2016 at port health authority. I was told it's valid for 10years. Can I still use this, or do I apply for a new one?
TIA

What is the background of your BSc and what is your intended field at the graduate level? If you can answer this, I may be able to recommend SA schools for direct masters without having to do Honours.

Hello house,

Greetings.

Please I need your help and suggestions. I applied for SA student visa in March before the lockdown and this is the 10th month. I've not heard from the embassy. I've asked VFS to verify what the issue could be and they can't say Jack.

My worry is that my passport will be expiring in March. Could that be the reason they are not working on my application cos people are obviously getting their visas that I know of.

Should I cancel my application and go for passport renewal, then I can make a fresh submission in Abuja cos Lagos office can't be reached.

It's sad that Abuja office could not help me contact Lagos office to know the cause of the delay.

My friend that went to Abuja in October to submit for student visa has been given. You can see how Lagos office is frustrating her people.

I hope to hear from you guys. If you have emails or working phone numbers of the embassy kindly share please.

Thank you all
Tiana

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Neile: 6:42pm On Dec 14, 2020
Sorry for the delay and stress. I had the same issue although mine was for a work visa. I submitted in March and received my visa in November after sending several emails/pleas to directorgeneral@dha.gov.za. I got this email on this platform. The person kept forwarding my email to some colleagues until I received a message from VFS that my passport was ready for collection.
