There was this real life story an old woman told me those days. She said in 1940s, she was told by a native doctor that she has a very tall tree in her house and some individuals will try to cut
down the tree, but they won't be successful, meaning she will give birth to a very rich man, and no body will succeed in killing him and it eventually happened in 1980s, and I my self witness it. That woman is later now, her rich son is almost 70 year old. If not destiny how will the native doctor be able to see her's son future? Even one of the individuals that wanted to kill him was his uncle and he confessed when he was about to die.

Well, that's your believe. My belief is that there's is destiny or predestination. How did I know? There were people who at/before birth, there was prophecy of how their life was going be and it was so exactly. Even before the advent of the gospel. Thousands of years before the first coming of Jesus Christ, there was prophecy that He was going to die for our sins and it was so.

We have absolute Destiny and Probably Destiny.

1. Absolute Destiny: This is your primary assignment on earth. e.g to save a people from perishing like Joseph of the bible.

2. Probably Destiny: These are things you involve yourself or do to fulfil your Absolute Destiny like Joseph who was a Prime Minister to pave way for him to rescue the world from hunger.

Anybody that says there's no destiny doesn't know anything about life. And there's nobody whose destiny is in their hands.
Imagine an aborted feotus: was his destiny also in his hands?
And Op,prayer can only change situations,it cannot change destiny.
Imagine when jesus, while on the cross, begged God to change his destiny of dying that night, did God oblige him? No!Because that was his destiny! To whoever cares to know,we are living in a programmed world. We can only pray and struggle for a better life but we can't escape destiny.

People often make statements like "no one can temper with my destiny". But that's a lie

When evil people see a child that has a good star, they can block or take that destiny away from them, it's quite difficult but kinda easy especially for occultic men.

Stop collecting things anyhow from people all in the name of things are hard, someone can give you 1k and tap 100k from you and this is very common in africa

Open your eyes and then you'll see what I'm saying very clear.

Whether or not anybody believes it or not, destiny does exist. We have been destined for different things in this life we live, who we marry, where we go and when we go, If we would be rich or poor and even how and when we'll die. There's an adage in igbo that says "Ife chukwu kwulu oya ga'eme. We're merely acting out our respective destinies and ain't nothing you can do about it and thats the ugly truth

Yes scripturally, destiny is real. God has a plan prepared for you before you got here.
But fulfilling it ,is very optional because of the gift of freewill given to you.
For you to make most of it:
You have to know it exists
You have to ask for it
You have to take account of your natural endowment because everything points to a purpose.
Just as man makes nothing without purpose, so does God.
You cannot do everything and prosper by them equally
It also requires lots of hardwork and searching to understand your purpose on earth.
It is also in stages, as you get your self trained and fulfil a level, the next is opened to you.
If you decide not to work towards it ,which is your choice, you may experience some success but you may not experience ultimate fulfillment.
The pursuit of destiny is scripturally real.
For more Google Myles Munroe teaching on purpose
And lastly, destiny is very personal,so take this contribution personal.I wish you d best."He that seeketh, findeth "

Destiny from a Christian perspective poses a huge conflict in the reconciliation of freewill and faith.

If you are given freewill by God, there should be no such thing as destiny. But if God is omniscient, it means every thing is predestined as God already knows before anything happens.

This has implications for how we should also see the consequence of “hell”. Will you be going to hell for exercising your free will or will you be going to hell because God knows what is to come (hence you’re destined for hell)?
There is no contradiction.

You have a free will doesn't mean you won't have an end.

God knows the end yes, but man also controls his destiny completely.

It's like a scriptwriter knowing the outcome of a movie even though the characters determine the role to play

Polycap whispered to the love of his life " if it isn't destiny that brought us together then what?" His love Monica looks into his lustful eyes, she knew the games. "I am destined to marry a rich man" Monica replied confidently.
Polycap knew he wasn't the Mr. Destiny, he never wanted to be, he never could have been, he was only after Monica first Fruit.
He grew closer to Monica, his fore head leaning against hers, his looks this time wasn't a feigned look of love like he acted earlier; his looks was like that of a perverted uncle trying to catch a feel with his underage niece, Monica saw his true intention she felt rather disgusted at Polycap; that feeling later changed to thrills as his hands found itself around her bossom.
Monica wanted it to stop but also wanted it to continue; "stop stop it" she said but her moans betrayed her words. "Stop stop it" another voice resonated with Monica soft pretentious voice it was her father, yes Monica father. Polycarp ran like a Lamborghini on a free express road. Never to be heard, never to be seen.
Years later young Monica is now a Lady in her 50s still looking radiant, she gazed upon old Polycarp working in her multi million naira site of one of her luxurious homes. Age did Polycarp no good, as the eyes of both then lovers locked.
Monica smiled, Polycarp smiled. Monica over the years did marry a rich man that helped her build her career while Polycarp spent his youth chasing beautiful girls like Monica and never for once tried to be a rich man destined to marry his then love. It is either his love was weak or his motivation to succeed was weak or both.

A line from Monica words after a lengthy conversation " I wanted to marry a rich man, so I worked hard to be of a status worthy"

You see Destiny is not "what you are meant to be or do" if it actually exist. Destiny is what you are meant to sacrifice to be what you are to be"
Polycarp realized the destiny man for Monica could be anybody, No, not someone far, but someone who is ready to push, ready to take that position of destiny. But Polycarp realization was already too late.

Fantastic!

Listen to Christ

Luk 13:23  Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Luk 13:24  Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Luk 13:25  When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Luk 13:26  Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

Your destiny pushes you to make the choices you make hmmm.... including wrong choices, that's what you're saying in other words...so if I'm destined to die somewhere for instance, I'd go to where it would happen and nothing would be able to prevent it

Yes, it is like that sadly.

Someone was destined to betray Jesus...I can't remember a verse in the old testament where this was prophesied.Even if Judas made a choice not to betray Jesus, someone else would..

You can control your choices but not destiny..

Destiny is like a planned out scenario, someone somewhere must fulfil it, either you or someone else..
If its prophesied that you will be rich, someone will just make that choice to bless you..and likewise if you are destined to be poor...

Have you seen where poor people pray and go to church daily yet, they still die poor..and some will live in promiscuity and sin and still die rich...

This life no balance
