Its an issue fabricated by SE people. Yes the Asa Ndoki people are split into 2 states which is Rivers and Abia. Just like most states where you have some clans split into different states due to state creation.

When Rivers was created in 1967 being one of the first 12 states created, the boundary was carefully drawn, however during the creation of Imo state in 1976 they wanted to drag part of Rivers including oyigbo into their new states, but the NBC had to disprove their claims.

So does state creation by decree mean that clan members divided by "boundary adjustment" are no longer of the same clan? Was Rivers state not created during the war? If yes how was it drawn carefully?

Thats true. They cut out the Oil producing areas like Obigbo, Egbema and Etche and lumped all of them into Rivers state. Had they known that Ukwa , or Owaza in Imo state had Oil, they would have been carved into Rivers state and by now, that idiot called Wike would have been saying they are not Igbos

My question was: under what province was Obigbo (or ‘Oyigbo’ as you like to call it) in the then Eastern Region? When the region was broken up by Gowon to try and get other ethnicities in the region to support ‘one Nigeria’ during the war, in which state did Gowon place the province Obigbo was in? Now if the province was broken up with part placed in the new Rivers and part left in the new East Central State, what was the criteria for knowing which state got what part?

I keep on telling my people that being a part of Nigeria, and having to share the same nationality with evil people that do not wish us well...it will take us decades to recover from the wickedness they have visited on us! Does anyone think if it was say the Fulani that occupied the territory Ndigbo occupy in the east, that ‘Oyigbo’ would be in Rivers State today? It was all done in a bid to limit our territory!

There was nothing such as Oyigbo until the draconian boundary adjustment. When Obigbo joined Khana, Gokana, Tai and Eleme to form Bori LGA, the supervisory councilor of Bori LGA changed the sign post from Obigbo to Oyigbo. I was among the youths that removed the initial sign post and restore it to Obigbo. It became serious issue between Obigbo people and executive members of Bori LGA. It got to a point that HRH Eze Nwogu, the first Eze Oha 1 of Obigbo, left Obigbo to Owaza.

IMO state created out of Afikpo, Oguta, Nkwerre, Mbano, Mbaise, Bende, Arochukwu, Umuahia, Okigwe, Orlu, Oru, Mbaitoli/Ikeduri, Etiti, Ohafia, Northern Ngwa, Owerri, Aba and Ukwa
