Which school would you rather recommend in Nigeria. How many schools have an alumni center that can help you process and dispatch a transcript in two weeks?
there's Baze, AUN where there's freedom and happiness. How tf can you even think of going to a church secondary school like that to get a degree? Ur facking nuts!

So you people believe that flimsy reason of name mismatch is enough to take the school six (6) months to sort out. I can assure you, if VC's daughter has the same challenge, it won't take the school up to six (6) to sort it out. I love everything that has to do with Oyedepo but I don't like this issue of sluggishness from CU. In the timeline of events above, look at the wide gaps between the dates. Who does that in a sane country?
The only truth so far

If you actually studied the timelines, ALL the delays were from the person requesting her transcripts.
From her end, there were delays in making her requests despite having information she needed to contact the school.
She also made delays in making payment. Nobody will start your work until you make payment.
There's almost a 2 weeks delay from her own end anytime she wants to correspond with CU.
I also observed that once they get her requests, they act almost immediately on it.
Go through the timelines again.
She needs to be more proactive, as nobody will do anything for you while you're just sitting down and waiting.

Event Timeline:

Sep 10 - Your transcript application was submitted (form + payment + service charge payment)

Sep 11 - The CU Alumni (CUALA) office helped you to then submit the application to CU Academic Affairs

Sep 22 - The Academic Affairs dispatched the transcripts for American Law School

Sep 25 - Transcripts delivered to the Law School

Sep 25/28 - Correspondence between applicant and CUALA - tracking number shared etc

Oct 12- Law school tells applicant the transcript they received doesn’t have the exact date of graduation so it’s invalid

October 26 - Applicant forwarded email from Law school to CUALA, copying VC, Regsitrar saying that Law school needs a transcript with exact graduation date (e.g., July 7 2007)

Oct 27 - CUALA discussed with Academic Affairs about how to handle this. They decided to send a Certified True Copy of her certificate which carries the exact date graduation date and sign an attestation letter to the law school. CUALA communicated this to applicant on the same day. CUALA did not charge a service fee for this.

Nov 9 - Applicant paid for Certified True Copy of certificate (CTC) + attestation form signing + courier charges and attached a copy of the law school form to be signed by Academic Affairs. She also copied VC, Registrar on this email

Nov 9 - CUALA takes print out of form to Academic Affairs for signing. However the form had her married name instead of her maiden name so the records didn’t match and so Academic Affairs couldn’t sign the form .

In the meantime, the CTC was ready to be sent, but to avoid double courier charges, it was pended.

Nov 17 - CUALA communicated to applicant that law school needs to send a new form with her maiden name

Dec 2 - Law school sends updated form with her maiden name. CUALA prints out and takes to Academic Affairs for processing

Dec 8-13 - Shiloh week so CU mail room and other services are closed

Dec 9 - CUALA confirms to her that the law school letter has been signed and scans a copy to her as evidence

Dec 14 - CUALA confirms to her that both the CTC and signed letter have been sent to the mail room and are ready for dispatch. She acknowledges and thanks CUALA for the help.

Dec 15 - Viral video is released of her calling out CU and complaining that her transcript wasn’t processed.

Pls correct me if I'm wrong, but what I understand from this post is that:

It took about 2 weeks for the transcript to reach its exact destination from the time it was requested in Sept.
Not bad at all, considering most organisations worldwide are still dealing with the covid.
It took a month (from that Sept) for the student to get back to CU that she needed more details added on her transcript in Oct.
It took CU 2 days to resolve this new request, but there was another 2 weeks delay in sending it because student didnt pay for service till 2 weeks later on Nov 9.
Unfortunately this time around, she attached a new document (from her law school) to be signed by CU which the details didnt match her records with CU. As a lawyer, I would have expected her to attach a copy of her marriage certificate, her new passport page bearing her new name and perhaps even an affidavit from a court abroad that she is the one bearing this new name. She didn't do any of that either, and expected CU to blindly sign such a document. This was Nov 9.
CU contacted her a week later that her document couldn't be signed and they needed a document bearing a name that matched their records.
She updated CU with the new document 2 weeks later on Dec 2.
CU sorted her request out 12 days later because it was the Shiloh week, and all admin services were closed for about a week during that period.

Most of the delays that happened were actually from her end, except for the week of the Shiloh program. No admin services were rendered that period, but it's their rule there I guess.

At this digital age, sending transcripts shouldn't be a rocket science. So CU sends transcripts without date of graduation. That American University will be wondering what type of University is this Nigerian University. Even in days of analogue/physical transmission, it doest take that long to send transcripts from one University in one continent to another

To the best of my knowledge covenant Uni. Don't delay in sending out their transcript if you follow the steps they outline to you. I have requested for mine more than 5 times and they always send it through. I don't need to call anyone just send an email and they will respond.

The response started in October, but lady said she has been pushing since July?

I duno why some former Cu graduates are just dramatic. Erica is an example with all the nonsense she did in big brother house. This complainant too.
Some CU girls can be like that, a little patience would have helped.
Lesson learned let us be more patient in life to avoid issues.

If you’re not a CU alumnus you better keep your mouth shut because you do not know shit. The lady is wrong, we can bring tons of CU alumni to brief you on their experience both good or bad on transcript, etc. collection and this lady went off the tangent. Don’t be unfortunate.

As in ehn. I had to look it up on my mobile dictionary and eventually Google directed me back to your quote on the same word. One should be careful what he or she learns from this platform because some people are just too careless with words, all because they want to sound intelligent by being grandiloquent.

You have a huge problem! The problem is that, you take life too seriously. Nairaland is an intellectual Forum wherein it's a given that every member is literate. The guy who I quoted knew that there's no English word written the way he constructed his thought in this case. So, if you can't handle sarcasm and a joke - too bad; but you're in no position to teach us English grammar. No way!

In a sane country, characters with deficiency in comprehension and analytical reading won't be seen making a fool of that country in a global forum like Nairaland.

You see constructive criticism as an affront against the school. That's not how our society can become better. We need a mind change in this country.

Read my comment again;
CU is currently one of the best university in Nigeria and I will gladly send my kids to that University.
The transcript preparation period was not too long as against the comment I read.
Then I said: build a faster system if you are intellectually equipped to do so". You can only criticise other people's effort if you have done something better.

You lack the calmness needed to read and understand anything worth it salt.

To subsidize your ignorance and lack of comprehension ability, I will volunteer to loud it to you that her transaction with her school took two weeks starting from SEPTEMBER

Part of the time was actually wasted by her intending law school who took TWO WEEKS to reply to CU request.

I didn't bother to read your epistle. If you are smart as you want to claim, you will see that I clearly highlighted where I had issues with in ur article.

You were basically blaming the girl that because she graduated in 2013, it was ok her transcript went missing.

Comprehension remains your biggest challenge. You read but cannot understand a thing.

In the entire episode, no where was it stated that her transcript went missing and at any rate, transcript don't get missing for it is not result. It is not a source document but just a summary taken out of your records with exams and records. It doesn't go missing. It's not a certificate.

The whole transaction between the girl and the school took two weeks.... I know you won't understand what to weeks means, here.... 14 days including none working days.

By the way, I am not a graduate of the school; I am from UNEC and many years beyond your ten years postulation has passed since I left the university

You that have comprehension challenge wants to teach somebody anything meaningful when you have not proved that you know how to identify challenge and prospect from a lengthy comprehension passage.

Ordinary trancrio discussion here you couldn't assimilate to the point of writing about Remita .

Lol you are so pained and trying so hard to seem petty. You should blame your computer science curriculum mandated by nuc for all universities.
The top of my company's programmers are mostly from CU. In fact we have a preference for them.

What your organization needs is a better functioning HR. If you are employing people whose skills don't match organizational need then you are working for a mumu company with a clueless leadership.

Transcript is just an academic record.
Your certificates should carry dates.
