Pls explain how being in an authoritarian regime helped d police of 1986 to track Anini? What has governor or politician got to do with catching Anini or not? Obviously, u aren't aware that Anini had protection from police officers in d police force. How much do u no about Anini case? Who told u corruption wasn't endemic? Where u around in 1986?

If corruption is ur excuse, what did buhari say he was coming to fight? If politicians & governors protect today's criminals, are there no laws that can be used to check them?

Stop asking stupid questions.

You damn well know crime/ corruption has risen exponentially from independence, year after year.

That is a societal problem which no single person can solve.

But it can be tackled by various means amongst which is the use of tying mobile phones to identifiable citizens which would make it easier for the law enforcement to do their job as well create further obstacles for criminals as they go about their business.

As regards Anini, DSP Iyamu was his informant and gun runner from within the Police force.

It is only an idiot that cannot see how authoritarian regimes get their goals achieved with less encumberance than a group of corrupt politicians who debate and debate and debate only to reach a decision which they would still debate over.

I wish we have CCTVs around many public places. It may not prevent a crime, but at least we may get to see the criminals and hopefully capture them. Sadly this case is dead on arrival...the police will just come and tow vehicle to their station. And demand some ridiculous amount of money when the relative or kin comes for it. The story ends there. What a country!
am telling you bro, after watching FBI series.. I doff my cap for the United States, how their FBI dey take investigate things dey suprise me, it will be hard to commit crime and go free.

But here In Nigeroa, the only thing DSS does is go after opposition politicians?

What was d purpose of setting up BVN?

To help to curb corruption.

Aa I said earlier, no single panacea to crime prevention.

It appears you don't even understand the issue or worse still, the English Language.

Fighting crime doesn't mean you would win in doing so.
When Pablo Escobar held sway, many politicians who campaigned to end Narco trade paid with their lives.
Did that stop more and more citizens and politicians from doing their bit to eradicate the trade?

Since they were only successful in killing Escobar, yet the Narco trade continues till this very day, does that mean they should just give up?

When you talk about Laws, you talk as if it isn't human beings that would implement them.

This sad event happened at Evo road, GRA Port Harcourt Rivers State.

The victim was yet to be identified and men of the Nigerian Police were also yet to arrive the scene at the time of this report.

Citizens should learn to start installing in their front yard. That's part of community policing. In developed countries over 70% are privately owned.

Just pray for God complete protection and grace.

Only that can stop evils like this, when enemies really mean to bring someone down, not even UK's MI6 can protect.

And you think God would come down from the imaginary heaven to come and help you. ? Why do you think all these big pastors use securities armed to the teeth with guns, matchets, dagger, club, bottles and all kind of weapons and drive around in bulletproof cars...? It's a simply reminder that God won't come down from nowhere to help you when trouble come calling...The only thing that would help is the precaution you took...!!!
