Akwa ibom has over taken cross river and rivers join together...u need to see d massive infrastructure going on there.

Its indeed d African Dubai just like d writer stated....don't let hate kill u
I don’t usually reply , but let me school you , good clean road and few fly overs is not enough to pride a city a tourist city , I mentioned cross river because obudu is still functional despite the low maintenance from the government, marinal resort , museum , waterfalls and many other places foreigners can visit and relax, name tourist sites in uyo or akwa ibom at large , then we can discuss .

I didn’t mention tinapa cos it’s no longer functional aside their waterpark and hotel . Cross river has dropped since the departure of Donald duke but it has more tourism than akwa ibom , akwa ibom is richer and finer than cross river that everyone knows

Purely overhype. Which kind Dubai akwa ibom is? Which kind dubai with their rich resources, can't provide job to its people?
Which kind dubai where all my niggas dem have relocated to lagos, abuja, ibadan, ph, for greener pasture?
Da owo, iwed eti mkpo ekpong uto mkpo ewed te mi mbok.

Udom has tried but he's the worst performing govt. In the state's History. As for this thread i don't blame the psycophant that put this up, but i blame the mod who push this to front page.
Jerewise332:
I'm from Akwa Ibom state
And I can only regard this thread as a TRASH
Which Dubai?
How many infrastructure has this present administration could deliver?
Or are you going to talk about some of the abandoned projects in the state?
Just because FG has approved Ibaka deep sea port thats makes Akwa Ibom looks like Dubai. May be you're referring to Ibom Christmas village.. You better wake up from your sleep
As crowded as Lagos is, you can't compare Lagos to Akwa Ibom in term of development strives. Not as if I don't like my state Akwa Ibom, I do but when you see the truth speak out.. Politicians in Akwa Ibom, they'll make their money in Akwa Ibom then travel to lag, abu or even travels overseas to spend the money when theyre back, all you could see them built is hotels and filling stations.

Which kind unnecessary hyping be this na , uyo is fine but far from what being dubbed the Nigerian Dubai when there is still Lagos , Abuja and cross river , how many beach or tourist sites can one visit in akwa ibom state , even the ibeno beach na just fishing site and not a fun place tourist can go relax , uyo and some few other local government there is neat , has good roads and all that , but no amazing architectural design to even blow ones mind there , stop this unnecessary hyping please , when all udom do is loot quietly, to me

they have good roads there.. u go make ur money in transportation business there. I love that state... if only they have enough industries and big companies, i swear, Lagos will lose relevance within 5 years but the governors from that state are not yet ready.

i don't yet know their plan

Nigeria ain’t gonna restructure anytime soon...certainly not a full restructuring that’ll give each region/state/ethnicity full control of their destiny and resources so they can develop at their own pace! And the major reasons this wouldn’t happen are: envy; covetousness; lack of self-belief; and putting eye in another region/state/ethnicity business instead of facing front!

Some know the capacity for others to leave them for dust, given half a chance and the right conditions, so they want the status-quo to remain so they can continue to use ‘one Nigeria’ to hold these groups down and continue leeching off their resources (human and material)!
Well soon we'll have no option to. In fact, I reckon that the process has already started in the SW and SE with the formation of Amotekun and ESN, respectively

Gov. Udom is no doubt trying his very best but there's no guarantees yet for the sustainability of all these great achievements in a one unitary nigeria runned by the fulani sahel people up north. Anything can easily go south with the kind of dirty politics we play here just only one wrong governor can destroy all these.

Akwa Ibom: The Making of An African Dubai

Akwa Ibom State under the Udom Emmanuel adminstration is gradually becoming a destination for investors and entrepreneurs owing to the huge development in agro sector, establishment of industries, economic/ business-friendly policies of the government and good road network.

And as a show of support and solidarity to the result-oriented administration of Governor Emmanuel, the Federal Government recently gave approval to the business case of Ibom Deep Seaport project, which has received much attention from this present administration. This approval is coming on the heels of the vigorous push by the Udom Emmanuel led administration for the actualization of this long awaited vision. It will be recalled that previous administrations since 1999 have made several attempts at kick starting the seaport, without success.

The huge attention given to the project by the present administration is necessitated by the myriad of benefits the project will bring to the state and Nigeria in general, on Completion.

The Ibom deep seaport has been described by the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Economic Development, Akan Okon as a project that will be of immense value to Nigeria, in terms of employment generation, increase in port capacity, and also improve efficiency in shipping business.

He explained that the deep seaport, which is designed for very large vessels that can load over 13,000 containers in one voyage, will also serve as a trans-shipment port as smaller vessels will be used to lighter cargoes from the mega vessels to seaports, and river ports closer to the consignee’s within and outside Nigeria.

Akwa Ibom State is becoming the Dubai of Nigeria, and has seen tremendous increase in population as a result of the safety and government-investor friendly disposition enjoyed in the state.

From a small fishing village, Dubai has become the heartbeat of business.Today, Dubai is a city of skyscrapers, ports, and beaches, where big business takes place alongside sun-seeking tourism. Because of its large expatriate population, it feels like a Middle Eastern melting pot, and the atmosphere is generally tolerant, noted a public affairs commentator, Eric George.

The same can be said of America.
The modern American economy traces its roots to the quest of European settlers for economic gain in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. The New World then progressed from a marginally successful colonial economy to a small, independent farming economy and, eventually, to a highly complex industrial economy.

This is what Akwa Ibom State under Governor Emmanuel is evolving into. The industrial revolution he has brought to the state, and in most cases through the relationship he built during his years in the banking sector is what is strategically positioning and expanding our economy, on the same path that Dubai and the US started their journey from.

One may mock this assertion when a comparison between what is happening now in the US and Dubai, and what we have today in Akwa Ibom is made.
We may not have been there now, but truly, we are on our shortest route to greater economic glories.

Rome was not built in a day. Today's Dubai is not a year's plan. Infact, it was a 20- year plan, and it took more than 20 years for them to get to where they are today.

Governor Emmanuel has already positioned Akwa Ibom on a good standpoint, and by 2050, history will speak loud of this noble economic foundation led by Gov. Emmanuel.

There's no greater glory that a leader would leave behind, than to leave a generational legacy of self independence, economic renaissance, entrepreneural development and mental reorientation.

With the huge backing of the Federal Government towards the actualization of the Ibom Deep Seaport, Governor Udom Emmanuel will soon layout a full scale implementation plan for both the Deepsea port and the Liberty Oil and Gas free Zone, also recently approved for commencement, observed the Information and Strategy Commissioner, Ini Ememobong.

Indeed, these are best times to live as Akwa Ibomites. In our time, an economic roadmap for the Akwa Ibom of our dream is laid, through the able hand of our dear visionary leader, Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Rev'd Richard Peters writes from Uyo
The same can be said of America.
The modern American economy traces its roots to the quest of European settlers for economic gain in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. The New World then progressed from a marginally successful colonial economy to a small, independent farming economy and, eventually, to a highly complex industrial economy.

Nigeria cannot be America or Dubai, America or Dubai never cry that another business people are making it in the countries< instead the make a policy to protect the investors, but in Uyo issue they will be kidnapping and maltreating the investors which happen to be their fellow Nigerians.

Uyo will remain Uyo while Dubai and America remain who they are both in government policy to protect the investors and individually to be friendly to the investors because both benefit from each other.

Maybe ...where u leave in Lagos is dirty.. ..tell God to bless u so u can live where otedola, dangote, adenuga, davido, wizkid lives. All the 36 state govs, formal governors and presidents have house in lagos...dey there dey say Lagos is dirty..when u will not travel out from alagbado sinking hole u live. . .nonsense!
I move around Lagos and don't need to live only in a super wealthy place to know that Lagos is dirty ,rough and disorganized .If your creterial of a clean city is only were the super rich and wealthy lives to determine if a state is worthy be called a clean city then you are ignorant and just fooling yourself ..
So average class are conditioned to walk through smelly open gutters /canals and street littered with garkages all around just becos they are not super rich like the otedolas.
Visit other countries that Nigeria is richer than , such as Namibia , Senegal etc and see ,Rwanda and see how clean thier street are with a well organized environment .
Lagos has massive structures that are springing up here and there but the state is dirty with open canals that will force u to cover ur nose .
Then we have the agberos who are everywhere, harassing drivers and chasing after money and constituting a nuisance On the road .. pls leave ur enclave and try visit some African countries and see how clean and organized they are.
.U are a mediocre that is why you are talking like this .

Yeah, most places in Lagos are dirty. Seriously Lagos is a overhyped, and the planning of that state is not urban, except for some places.
They will have to so a lot of damaging and lots of collapsing for Lagos to meet the urban standard, as for this post, Akwa Ibom can't make the Nigeria Dubai. Watch out for Eko Atlantic
yes you are right . Eko Atlantic looks more like . But I have discovered from the city prototype displayed online it sow not they have provision for tramp and train that will help in conveying people so that the road is not over stretched .My observation though .
