Few months ago President Buhari lauded Governors of Zamfara and Katsina and pointed to them as model for dealing with insecurity. He encouraged other governors nationwide to do what the two governors have done by using amnesty to convert bandits to repentance.



I dont believe any governor in South heard because no one locked steps with his recommendation.

Yet Buhari touts his education as a right of way to leadership. He should have been forthright and tell the children that the barrel of his gun is why he is standing infront of them; exact same power that snatched them a week ago from their hostels. If they can relive their experience in the kidnap it would be easy for them to know Buhari was once a bandit himself.

Buhari lied in front of small children and said the rewards of his education is why he is standing in front of them and ask them to return to school.

Sai baba came into military rulership as a bandit. Then in 2014 he issued a terroristic threat "baboon and dog" will soak in blood if he does not win election. Another banditry act. We are yet to see him exhibit or apply academically supported policies, but he touts education, falsely, as his glory to leadership.

In both, there are no consequences suffered by the abductors. Bokoharam continue to enjoy federal govt patronage. Bandits continue to enjoy amnesty at state level. Both are labeled repentant even when evidence prove there is no repentance in their ideology and acts.

We are talking about secondary school kidnaps so far. Is it possible that university campuses could also become targets? Could shopping malls become targets? These are questions an educated leader should want answers to and demand strategies to remove such threats or at least develop countermeasures.

In Kenya, terrorists carried out similar attacks and killed or kidnapped shoppers in a mall.
