Mehn the customer care for wakanow was the one that said that its needed.

Wakanow tries to get everyone to take it. That's how they make money. When you forcefully tell them that it is not required, they don't tell you again

Sure, I did. I only wished I had taken more than enough because no one bothers to check our luggage.

Hey what did you take and did it not increase your bags weight?

No I didn't
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Ayobami2001: 9:15pm On Dec 21, 2020
I would personally go for a diploma cos it’s has more additional units compared to a certificate programme, so it’s usually richer in content. That’s why some diploma courses are longer in duration.

That said, they are both good options.

Hello house

Please did anyone who already travelled or planing to travel open a Canadian account from here in Nigeria. From the rules of quarantine, I can see one is supposed to remain indoors for the entire 14 days, unless there is a medical emergency. So how does someone get food and groceries for the duration of quarantine? Apparently, it is advised one make orders with online transfers or make payments with cards instead of leaving your accommodation to a store to spend cash. That can attract a fine. I got cash with me but I just wanna have options.

Will appreciate it especially if folks under quarantine tell of their experience

I guess someone mentioned it here that cuz of this Covid and quarantine that one should try as much as possible to open your bank account at the airport once you land in Canada I guess this is the reason so one can have access to do online transfers etc.

Yeah...opening an account at the airport would be the best or seems to be the norm but just in case one doesn’t get that option due to skeletal services from covid

The only thing stopping you from opening a Canadian bank account while still in Nigeria is that you do not have a Canadian Social Insurance Number. Once you get your SIN at the Canadian airport, you can open a bank account through the bank's website while in quarantine. But since the account opening process is available at the airport, as Awys had mentioned, it is best you complete it there before moving to quarantine.

I'm not sure they're on holiday oh cos I dey pass their office almost everyday and dem still dey cause traffic as usual.

I guess what they mean is that they're not taking new requests within the said dates but they're probably processing other requests they've received before the 16th.

Hi Guys,

Anyone else getting this error message and the 502 gateway when trying to sign on?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by TeeMade: 10:22pm On Dec 21, 2020
These two statements "remain closed for submission of visa application" and "work resumes FULLY on Jan. 4th 2021" suggests that they're not completely closed for business operations, just not receiving new visa applications.

Perhaps, they might still be accepting passport requests since it's not a fresh visa application. Just my thoughts oh based on their english, I don't know for certain.

It will end in praise for us all...

What I did was carry my most essential stuffs from Nigeria so I didn't need to come out at all, firstly I did try to open an account at the airport but couldn't spot one on time and if you have a connecting flight, you might not have the time to get your SIN and open an account, I was told Nigerian cards work but didn't get to use it either.. if you can come with essential foodstuffs that can last you 14days or if you have any dependable family/friend around here - they can help you do grocery shopping and drop them off for you. L

Cheers
