Hello everyone!
I’m a tad worried about my proof of funds with the way CAD has been fluctuating. I’ll be submitting my application sometime this week and 4 million naira is all I can spare right now for POF. I’ve been worried sick that with the whole fluctuation going on, it might not be enough. Someone advised I either add an extra 500k to cushion whatever effects the changes might bring(I can’t afford the extra till maybe next year) or decline ITA to buy extra time to add more cash. What do you all kindly suggest? Are you a single family ? 100k will be just okay to cushion the effect of exchange rate. Another thing you can do is, on the day you would be submitting attach a copy of either Oanda / xe 's rate of the day. There's no need declining ITA.

Secondly my bank reference has no average six months balance like in the CIC format. It was a huge hassle of going to the bank every day for two weeks to get this one. Will a six month bank statement suffice instead? YES There was hardly any activity in the account these six months though. Make sure you can explain any lumpsum

Do not use flutterwave Barter o... be warned. There are restrictions on what you can use your Barter dollar card for.. it's not gonna work on CIC.
Also you WILL lose money. The dollar buy rate is lower than sell , so if you try and it fails, your money will never remain the same again (lol). My own is still paining me
No one said using Barter will be at official rate. They work with parallel and cross charge to CAD but saying it won’t work on CIC is false.
You should actually retract your statement than mislead people .

Say things as they are rather than post false information.

Hello everyone!
Please has anybody done third party TRF pick up with IDP using a photocopy of the passport data page.
It’s stated on their site that the pick up person should come with my international passport and there’s no way I can get that across to my friend right now. I’ve mailed them and they’re yet to respond. I wrote the exams in a neighboring state so I can’t up and go there myself. Their courier delivery says the least five working days and I don’t have that luxury of time to spare.
The person can use a photocopy, just scan and send

Submitted EOR form on 4th November.
Checked my online portal every other day and on 21st November, Writing score increased from 6.5 to 7.
No email from BC yet so on 24th of November, I emailed BC telling them that I checked online and my score increased.
Later in the evening, BC sent a separate email saying feedback for my EOR application has been communicated by the UK team and attached the EOR results.

Sent back the old TRF and received new one 3 days later

In my mind I’m like, so if I didn’t check online that’s how BC would have delayed me.

Update

British Council refunded my EOR fees today.

Issokay, you might be right and I might be wrong. The person you're advising can go ahead and try but should please come back and tell us how it went.
I dont say what I dont know. So below are receipts of my experience with pictures.
I use Barter USD card, and as you can see in image 1, the Naira equivalent of withdrawal after the card didn't work is short of the amount I transferred into my Dollar card. THIS IS WHAT I MEANT BY LOSE MONEY..
You will see In Image 2 , from the app "this card only works on select sites" Image 3 shows the list of sites the Barter dollar card supports.

I wont argue that I didn't work for you, but I also followed someone's advice here in November (probably you, who knows) and it landed in futility.

Eventually , I had to use a Canadian credit card to make payment.
mobenjackson:

What sort of terrible advice is this?? I used barter/flutterwave for my payment. I also helped 2 persons in paying their fee just over the weekend...They have a card that carters for such payment... Can we be super sure of info b4 dishing them out? No money will be lost... Infact i get AoR/CoAT even b4 the funds are deducted from my barter card... Let's be guided.

Good morning, pls does menstruation affects medicals ? QLIFE says no problem, that screening can still be done during your period , but I remember IOM doesn’t allow. Any body with prior experience? Thanks.

You need to give your urine sample so period may affect urine results.

You might have to share evidence of your successful payment (Visa and Right to passage) as I have shared pictures in support of my statement in few posts above.

Please share evidence of successful Visa application fee and right to passage payment using the Barter dollar card. If i didn't try it I wont advice about it. I also did not mention anything about rate. It is normal to lose Naira when you buy dollar and sell back immediately (as that will be the case in this situation once the card is not accepted on CIC)

Pheeeewww anyways.. it's out of concern that I am responding and providing as much clarity possible. Otherwise, I'm not gaining or loosing anything from anyone's trial and error.

Because I chose standard shipping of $10, it’s the shipping okay? Or the UPS of $85?

WES is generally faster, but if you're a lawyer you're advised to use IQAS to get favourable outcome on the degree equivalency tool.

Up to you though

I don’t think there was anytime in November when 450k would have covered the dollar amount required to pay for 1410 CAD (assuming you are a single applicant).

I used Barter in November, I have friends that have used it to pay in December as well. Please don’t discourage people from having a valid option that works. We all can’t get Canadian credit cards. cheesy

You dont think? Well those whose AOR is November 4 can attest that the amount paid was 1325 CAD and NOT 1410.

I so dont know what exchange rate you're using but CAD to Naira an the day I made that transaction was approximately 300Naira.

I don't know why you sound apprehensive as though you're used to people lie to you or vice versa.

Thanks for sharing. At this point, anyone can do whatever works for them. I shared my honest experience just to avoid people depleting their Naira with trial and error.

Another angle is that Barter could have worked for you and not for me depending on the primary bank linked to the Virtual Card.. again I don't know. But it sure did not work for me on the 3rd of November specifically for CIC.

$700 equivalent to $910CAD (without RPRF) = 348,270 naira

$1,109 equivalent to $1,410CAD (with RPRF) = 533,280 naira

Good evening everyone.

Please am I supposed to list all my work experience while creating my profile or I can just use the ones that cover my selected NOCs and then include the earlier ones post-ITA. The reason is that all these other companies are no longer in existence.

I'll appreciate your responses. Thanks

Yes it’s sort of complicated, you can’t use your card since the limit is $200 for GTB.

What you can do is, ask someone from abroad to pay for you, but it’s a bit hard to find someone you can trust, otherwise open a domicillary account with GTB, unfortunately you have to fund the account with dollars you get in Black markets.

Good evening everyone. I just created my profile but my score is showing as 408. However when I earlier calculated using the CRS calculator I was on 463.
I have 2 or more degrees, IELTS result was 9,7.5,7.5,7 LSRW, and have 3+ yrs of work experience... I see a disparity with my 'level of education' score from the CRS calculator and my profile. I am guessing that is the issue but I am not sure what to do to fix it.

Am I supposed to include Secondary education?

What could be the issue, please?
