Then the marriage is fully recognized by Jehovah and whatever they do thereafter is totally up to the couple.

I just wondered why he can't just present a better performing Christian group that's practicing what he believes is Christian!

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES separated themselves and stood out as an organized group claiming no other group is worshiping their God acceptably. Why not tell us the group that's not involved in all the things you thought is pagan?

Have you asked who made such laws?. Secondly, the law of the land recognizes customary wedding so why two weddings?

The western world doesn't celebrate two weddings like we do over here. The bible supports one wedding not two. Secondly it doesn't support wedding anniversary since it is unscriptural.

Ask him what is the arrangement for true worship today. Another narrative will come into play.

The legality of marriage as ordained by God is the consent from the parent of the bride and groom not man made tradition

If JWs were to apply the same justifications for forbidding Christmas, Birthday and New Celebration to the above practices, JW members would not be engaging in them…
