Hello House, just recently purchased a Honda Accord 09 and just this evening I drove it to get fuel and back with no issues but now I am about to drive out again but the key is not turning the ignition. it enters but does not turn and I don’t want to force it to avoid breaking the key. Please what could be the issue here and how do I go about resolving this. Any one with similar past experience or knowledge, please help. Thanks

Your steering wheel is locked. Turn key and steer at the same time.

It must be his first experience not necessarily his first. I've driven a car that never had such challenge and another with the challenge.

1 this happened if you turn your steering after switching off the ignition,
to unlock, simply turn the steering again before ignition...

Thanks guys for your response. This is actually not a steering wheel lock issue. I forgot to mention that. Steering wheel is freely turning but key refuses to turn ignition.

you would need a key specialist for this

I assume it's the ignition that's not working I.e Everything turns on, but when u try to start the engine, it cuts off. If that's the case

Just turn on the car, like you want to drive it, and select through all the gears and then return it to park. Turn it off. Then start the engine normally. It should work

If it's the key is not turning totally, In this case, press the break, disengage and reingage the handbreak again.
